That's a lot of trailer for a half ton.
On the weekend warrior I had, added a second unit to front bedroom vent. I later moved it to the vent behind the main AC unit and found it to work much better at cooling the entire trailer without freezing out the front bedroom. I just picked up an AC unit from RV dealer and did install myself.

I bought a unit and installed it over the rear area skylight. Ran the power off just an extension cord. Not through the units main panel. That way if there was a problem in the panel at least one unit would keep running and keep the unit cool. Plus with the heavy duty bulldog extension cord I could plug it into the park's 120 outlet. Or into Royal's when he wasn't there. :p

It may already be pre-wired for it already.
Often it's just a drop-in dealio.
Their are wired thermostat remotes:

and where you simply reach up and turn on the A/C at the unit's ceiling panel:

Figure that all out first so you don't have to return the unit.
They drain to the roof BTW.

You don't have to drill anything in the roof. You take out a vent and the new unit clamps onto the roof from inside the existing vent opening. When adding a second, non-ducted A/C, the hardest part (if it wasn't prepped for it from the factory) is getting the 120v power to it from the panel.

Camping World used to run a special with a discounted unit and cheap installation.
Dunno if they still do and I wouldn't count on it but I'd check.

See if you're pre-wired to the vent opening.
Ya drop the roof unit in, seal it first then wire it.
Then attach the room section, usually just 4 bolts, wire it, sometimes it's just a plug and plastic:

Put the plastic cover on, you're done.

Unless you have to fish a t-stat wire. A hassle.
I'd go with wireless remote or reach up controls.

Very good chance AC voltage wiring is already run and you may just have to ad a breaker at the panel.
Depends how ambitious the builder was.

Funny story.
I have most my experience with these units on the road where someone in an RV drove under an overhang and is stuck.
Unbolt and disconnect the roof unit and slide them out.

See it at our local 76 station from time to time (Sycamore and LA ave., Simi, you can see the damage on the over hang) and showed the station owner how to do it when it happens.

Avoid Carrier roof units.
They are more for commercial applications and don't jive well with RV's and are noisier than the hammers of hell.

I had a 36' and added a 2nd air in the bedroom, (15k in living room and 13500 in bedroom) Take apart the vent in the bedroom or 2nd vent in the trailer if you have one and it may already be pre-wired, if not super easy to do. Stay away from Camping World they are a rip off when it comes to the wiring. It took me 1 hour and 30 bucks to wire it through the ceiling and down the closet into one of the storage compartments (they wanted 1200 to wire it complete not counting the unit), then I had a local RV shop install a 13500 unit and hook up the breaker and run a 35' RV cord (20amp) with a 110 adapter to plug anywhere as needed. Total cost was 1300.00 including unit, when needed it actually cooled better than expected and we had to turn it down to low during the night in 100+ degrees....
Our trailer was a 30amp, and our 2nd air was a 20amp setup to use a 110. Where the 30amp plug hooks at most campgrounds there is usually an additional 110 avail and just plug it in and you are good to go...or when dry camping we used a 4500 genny for the trailer and had a 2400 for the 2nd air and that worked great as well.
