I keep my boat plugged into my onboard NOCO and lately one of the lights on the charger has been flashing green/red. It’s a two bank charger. I thought the charger had broke and I was going to replace it, but never got around to it.

I just had to replace both batteries because they are 7 years old and test weak. When I put it all back together both bank lights are red and seem to be charging. I’m thinking there was corrosion on the terminals that I couldn’t see. Any other ideas?

Have you put a meter on it to see what the voltage is while charging?

Noco Genius Battery Charger Flashing Red And Green Meaning

Sometimes, the charger fails to detect the battery because the battery’s voltage is too low (lower than 2V). The charger cannot initiate the charging cycle. This can happen when you leave the battery in storage for too long or if it goes unused for an extended duration.

According to NOCO the flashing red and green means no battery is detected. Either that’s corrosion on the terminals or the battery is so dead it can’t tell it’s there.

But with batteries you got 7 good years out of them. They don’t last forever. So it sounds like you got it back to where it should be with good charge lights.

Both red charge lights just changed to green, so I think I’m good now. Thanks for the help guys.
