Looking for someone in Havasu that will plant mature palm trees. I had the landscape done on my new construction and decided we want palm trees that are larger than what was planted. Talked to the landscape guy but he does not plant anything larger than about 15 gallon palms. We want something that is already grown to 15-20 feet in height. Anyone have any recommendations? I talked to Moon Valley Nurseries already. Anyone know of anyone else that could do a job like this?

Don't do it
Palms are a pita
Trimming, skinning, seed stalks
I already cut down 5 of mine
Once they get too tall they don't blend in with your home
Wish i never planted them

I did the same after 15 years. Glad I don’t have them anymore

I planted mine 20 years ago knee high, They grow about a foot per year
Then if you don't deep water them they seek water
Started lifting up my patio by my pool and pushing out the retaining wall
If you don't skin them they hold all the critters
Figure about $50 a tree to trim twice a year

In San Diego it’s about $90 tree ! I have like 25 Queen Palms around the yard

I rented a boom lift for $600 and had a Gardner guy do the trimming $250

2 dump loads later another $300 they look good

There's a beetle killing the Phoenix Canariensis palms. Lots of dead Canary Palms around San Diego nowadays.

I have Kentia palms for sale. But I don't think they could handle Havasu heat.

Our first choice is a Pineapple Palm (Canary Island Palm). If we can't get one of those a Queen Palm is the second choice. Am hoping to buy the palm through someone in Havasu to avoid delivery cost. Like I said, I already talked to Moon Valley, the delivery fee to Havasu doubled the price of the palm. We were hoping to keep the price between $5000 to $10000 and want as big of palm as we can get for that. Some of the ones Moon Valley is selling are way out of our budget but they had a few in the price range we want but the delivery fee kills it.

Have you checked with Serrano's nursery in Havasu? I had a friend get one around 2' in diameter 4' tall be before palms started a few years ago. Also I'm a little confused, Queen Palms are nothing like a Canary Palm, very seldom are they planted as a single palm, and they don't do well in Havasu.

Very true…Queens will not make it in Havasu way too hot and dry.

As stated queens will wither like lettuce in the sun.
I wish they would live here but no way.

I’m getting palms delivered tomorrow from this place in Cali. they are only charging $450 for delivery of 6 palms to Henderson. The date palms are $1100 for 8 footers,(they have bigger and Smaller) and these hybrids are $38 a trunk foot. If you want them to plant they will for $700 a tree and that includes a 1 year guarantee. Attached is their info.

I'm so glad we cut down our palm trees. Only one Sago palm left and it is getting too tall now.

This, and similar climate to Az and Nv, so trees should do fine with relocation.
closer to realistic costs.

Thanks for the responses. I am going to trying calling the place mentioned above. Had a few landscapers tell me avoid Moon Valley Nurseries because of their pricing.
