I picked up one of those $200 propane patio heaters...is badass, but I have it in a corner. 120 degrees of it puts heat in the wrong direction. I remembered I had a 50’ roll of 24” aluminum flashing that I bought 20 years ago because I needed 2 feet, so I made a little deflector....works bitchin. Fuel consumption is cut in half for warmth level.

If anyone wants a piece, and is local to Long Beach, lemme know. I’ve got 40ft left...would hate for the wife to cut herself in it in 40 years when she’s cleaning out the garage after I die.

I can’t find a heater for sale in Havasu. Lowe’s Home Depot ace. Nothing

That won’t fly...it’s not CA.

Edit: these things inhale propane faster than Grads inhales cock. Cheaper to by a jacket...

not only that, on a cold night the tank will ice up and burn even more propane. I converted mine to natural gas and it has a flexi hose with a bbq quick disconnect. Filling bottles at $25 a pop and refilling them takes too damn long even though you get waaaaaay more than the typical blue rhino swap outs from Home Depot etc.

I have like 6 bottles at the Hava house and 5 at the Escondido casa, it seems like I’m always refilling propane bottles!

last time I refilled at Tractor Supply (havasu) the guy checked the date code on every bottle and wouldn’t refill all my bottles - 2 of my bottles were out of date! So I had to do a swap out to get a new bottle.

I don’t think I’ve ever had someone check date codes on the propane bottles before = Big Corporate Chain Stores !

refill station by my house checks. Any Joe Schmoe at a Home Depot will swap out with a new blue rhino without blinking. They move carts in the parking lot not propane tank experts.

All the restaurant owners bought them all. Now they can't use them.

If you guys have natural gas anyone in the area you’ll pay a little more for the heater but grab that it burns considerably hotter not to mention no containers

I have 3 natural gas patio heaters at home. So nice never needing to refill tanks. But my neighbors propane seem to burn hotter.

Thought propane burns hotter?

You probably have the bigger / oversized tanks & they need to be inspected for a new 5 year stamp....
I have a small 1 gallon that needs to be inspected, no where to swap out and it’s like cheap to buy a new one....

sucks the big one!

How well do these patio heaters hold up in windy conditions? At what point can you not use them?

If you can get it lit an it has a chance to heat up the catalyst a mild to moderate wind won't affect it. It would take a fairly large gust to blow it out. Issue is even a steady breeze will effectively eliminate any heat it puts out, making it pointless to run.
