Any plumbers in South OC on here that can install a recessed gas line box in my kitchen?

I got a new range last weekend and it won't slide back all the way because of the stub out on the wall

If my plumbing jargon is wrong, this is what I need done.

First off, I'm not a plumber. May not be too hard of a job though. Do you have crawl space under that area or attic space above the area? The age of your house and ceiling height may determine if you have blocking in the walls? If you can get the pipe in the wall you may be able to just cut the drywall enough for the box and not have any drywall repair. Many areas allow the flex gas line and it is really easy to make connections without unions. Maybe something is already stubbed out in the attic/buildup? Just suggestions, may be a completely different situation.

Yup.....easy peasy. Just soap all your fittings/connections to check for leaks.

How far south into OC? I am headed to LBC to help another inmate. Just about to pull the pipe threader off the truck. Post a picture of what you are working with. .

Here is what I am working with.

And yes I'm in the Mission Viejo/Laguna Hills area.

I'm ASSuming there is just a 90 degree fitting pointing the pipe out of the wall, and if the 90 can be removed and the valve installed directly on the pipe in the appropriate box then I'm golden. Lowes and Home Depot employees looked at me like I was crazy and dont seem to have the box to do this (Can the same box used for water lines be used?). Kits online to do this seem to be $30-40.

The gas pipe is coming down from the ceiling, and run along the stud...

Also the line could just be run down to the floor. There is a recess in the stove there and the valve can fit as is. And the drywall is already removed there from a plumbing repair.

That first pic you posted looks like it will work. Use the same kind of valve. Should be a 90 just behind that. Make sure you back up that pipe when you take off the 90.......don't wanna make a small leak at the next fitting down the wall. That would suck. :D

I can touch the valve stub from the drywall hole, definitely a 90 there.

This is one of those deals I am just short on time for, so if someone can help that would be great.

Plumber cut that huge hole..

But what box is supposed to be used for something like this to recess the valve?

I'm not a plumber...not sure if there is a specified box. If it were me, I'd roll with the one you showed. I'd just wanna make sure that the threads and joint were I side that box in case it ever leaked. But then again, you have joints all up in the walls and shit anyways.....shouldn't matter. Just soap for leaks and babaam. Ur good. Use green pipe dope on the threads. Seals better than the white imo. Shit, I think plumbers just use Teflon tape.

My phone died so I could not check back that is a little far for me. Stayed late in LB and just got to checking back.

You need to open up the drywall up just above valve. Add a piece of pipe and a coupling and reuse that valve. Just set it at 4" off the floor. Double check your stove since you have it. But usually between 4-6" and they clear. They do not use boxes often for stove they use what you have but it is set to high. Cut drywall high enough so you can get a wrench on other pipe like HooterSled mentioned. Even with a box the hose would stick out the angle valve right next to wall is just as effective but hs to be right set low.
