I recently had the misfortune of knocking over a decorative wall and have just heard a repair price that seems excessive. I wonder if any of you construction type folks might be able to give me a ballpark of what's a realistic price for repairing this? Note that it seems to be a bare cinderblock wall (without mortar?) and no foundation, with a stucco exterior. Any input would be great. Thanks!

Are you going to be replacing the entire thing or just repairing the section that broke?

I believe the crack seen on the far side behind the cactus was pre-existing but I suspect we're talking about the whole wall.

I'm assuming the wall isn't yours. And seeing that it isn't yours, the owner is probably quoting you a price that's including the wall to be on a footing with rebar and such..... It's hard to say. The most expensive part is the concrete and stucco.

You're correct, it's not mine. My insurance will handle the details and all I know is the cost stated by the owner, it just seemed high for such a simple structure so I was curious what y'all would estimate.

That crack on back side is not from the damage you did. I would demo from the pillar on left side over. Looks like 14 ft or so. Then replace and stucco to match. With small footing and stucco matched $12-1400

It's not a retaining wall so it's not like you don't need high psi concrete or anything. Most of the supplies can be picked up at Resource for cheap.
