What is everyone using? I need a recommendation to keep our marriage when we head out on our 5k mile trip mid June.

An iPhone?
That’s where my head went. iPhone or Android phone paired to CarPlay/Android Auto. If you don’t want to replace your head unit, there are standalone screens that you plug that support it (then pair to you stereo via Bluetooth)

Might be worth looking into one that is specifically tailored for recreational vehicles, or trucks. Lots of roads out there your tall RV might not be real happy.

They don’t work for an RV. It will take you on short cuts that are not friendly.

That’s what I’m asking for. GPS for a RV!

Can’t really say what is best because we usually bounce between Google maps, and Garmin 870 rv. My buddy uses his Garmin truckers gps and it may actually be better you just have to disable all the commercial driving logs and alerts. Just my .02
update: also use the Rv trip planning apps the garmin is more mapping and fuel focused

The road types it selects can be tailored in the app, at least on google maps. always use the satellite views and you shouldn't have any issues....

I would use a tablet on a mount.

If you are RV'n it's always a good idea to sit down and check the routes each day before you just blindly take off trusting the GPS.

Try RV LIFE, CoPilot, or the Trucker version of TomTom GO

Garmin has a dedicated RV version as indicated above. I've been happy with the Garmin "Dezel" version for towing the boat.

Don’t have a tablet, just a cell phone.

I look at routes via Google maps, you just can’t get the full perspective.

I have been using Roadtrippers for last couple years. Put in my RV demensions and haven’t had any issues and I always pick the back roads when possible

Garmin makes a wonderful unit. Different size screens and a lot of options to keep RV safe ( i.e. bridge height, road width and the like).
I was looking at the Garmin cam 795.
Just wanted to see what others have used.

Will be headed to Kansas city for volleyball, then to pigeon forge TN and loop back to South Dakota then home. Looking at 4 weeks.

Let us know when you’re coming through Nashville area (if that’s your route) and we’ll drive out to meet you.
