Pontoon came with a crappy Jenson system.

It is a gauge style opening, so have to stick with that. I just want a simple system that I can replace the head unit and speakers (4). Maybe add an Amp if needed. Want to be able to hear it while driving. Do not want to break the bank.

Am looking at kicker for the head unit like this.

I am thinking 50 watts a channel isn't enough, so would need an amp. Any suggestions on amps and speakers?

would depend on motor! outboard sounds smooth enough for just a deck, your speakers are where it counts, most likely you have 6" speakers, if those speakers have no enclosure, any speaker will sound crappy, if thats the case use ( baffles ) if you can increase to 8" b good as to decks, newer decks are maybe 35-40 watts clean output should be good enough and most head units have preout for amps.

if it is the size of the speaker most likely rain shield, and being plasic will give vibration, get nice speakers i run 4 6" kickers and 12" sub on 1500 watts the 6" are keeping up nice bass when boxed. somtimes got to deal with what you have, spend your funds on speakers first, here are something that will help, lots of brands out there. https://www.designengineering.com/products/speaker-baffles/

Kenwood.

Just get the cheapest head unit they make with matching speakers. Why?

Cause even their cheap stuff is good!

This way you can just Bluetooth your phone to the head unit and control the volume and tunes with your phone.

Crutchfield normally has decent pricing, but they seem to be out of a lot of stuff.

P.S. I'm not a huge fan of loud music while under way. I'd rather hear what's going on around me. 😊

Thanks. I don't like it loud either, but still like to hear it when going long distances. I am on a huge lake and have a slow boat, so it takes awhile to get to some places we like to go.
