We just picked up a 2023 Denali for my wife. I guess they added this new automatic reverse braking on the new models, it wasn't on our 2020.

We have a tight turn into our garage and need to back up against some bushes. You get within a few feet of the bushes and it slams on the brakes if the feature is on. Whiplash situation...

You can turn it off but it reverts back to on the next time you cycle the ignition. How does one turn this shit off permanently???

Side note; it has the Super Cruise... I have to say, it's pretty pimp! We drove about 400 highway miles last weekend, it drove itself about 375 of those miles.

It is pimp. I supercruised to Powell in July. Damn thing knew when I was looking at my phone only 4 inches away from windshield, lol.

I have had similar experience with the backup brake. Pisses me off but it's not a regular occurrence for me like it would be for you. Good Luck.

It's the "don't fucking run over a kid and ruin everyone's life" nanny! Most vehicles have them now, most Euro since around 17-18.

Very effective, but super annoying. Just turn it off as you need to, IMO it's one of the more useful nanny bots in vehicles these days.

My wife's car has it and it sometimes gets confused and won't let us back out of the garage, kind of annoying but only happens every now and then.

I turned that shit off in my ram. Every time I'd try backing into a parking spot it would freak out because of traffic in parking lots

I view it the same in all my vehicles and this might sound stupid but if I save one stupid dog or child that runs behind me I'm fine with it . I dont want to have something happen and have to live with the what if i had not turned off that safety device . First time trying to hook up the boat with the door open was fustraing as a mother fucker though ! Lol

What breaks? Who fixes it? I don’t think I want something that breaks every time I use it.
