Hey there fellas , I’ve posted about my Roger’s Super Cyclone purchased recently, p. I’m in the process of getting her running again since it’s been parked for who knows when. The 427 is temporarily being replaced with a 454 while 427 gets rebuilt. Now my question after disconnecting motor, I was able to turn the pump, enough to know it’s not frozen stuck or too loose it’s a very tight. I was told all I need to do is fill it with gear oil from one hole til it come out the other hole . But I’m curious is there anything else aside from a full rebuild? Thank you for any and all feedback given.

Grease the front bearing.
I'd run it minimally out of the water, with as much water as possible going inside the pump.
Running a pump dry doesn't help it any.
And make sure the steering is free and smooth.

You are correct on the gear oil but do yourself a favor and give Tim and team over at Place Diverter a call. He will give you all the info you need and if you don't have a diverter yet, go ahead and pick one up. It's not a need, it's a requirement for jet boats. I can't say enough good things about Tim and the service he has done for me. I restored a jet a few years back and he helped a ton.

Now let's see some pics of the boat!
