I’d never even heard of RSV until recently…when Stetson got it. Took him to the do doc, tested positive for RSV.

“Its like a cold, infants and the elderly are at risk of secondary infection, mom and dad will be fine…”

Stetson had it for 4 days.
Rowdy (just turned 1) then got it, same deal.

Meanwhile, it’ll be THREE WEEKS this coming Friday, and it’s absolutely kicked my ass and my wife’s ass. Buckets of snot that doesn’t stop. Flu-like symptoms. I can’t remember ever being this sick for this long.

My FIL is under doctor’s care, he’s hacking something awful.

I’ve read this thing is running rampant in several countries.

Be safe out there.

My sons had it when they were toddlers 24 years ago.

We bought a nebulizer for home use.

Never had any problems later.

Oldest had it when she was about 9 months old, that was 13 years ago. Pediatrician told us every baby gets it at one point or the other, and it just depends on the severity. We had to do breathing treatments for a couple weeks with her.

2 of my daughters had it when we were living in Paso Robles. Both had to be hospitalized for a while. 1 was on the verge of being life-flighted down to CHLA (1 O2 point away from it). Both ended up being just fine.

My son got it when he was 9mo and spent 4 days in the PICU. His pediatrician said he had the worst case he had ever seen.

Our youngest daughter caught it at several weeks old. Spent a few days in the hospital. She had lasting effects for several years, but at 12 yo now she is perfectly fine. Our 1 year old at the time, along with wife and I didn’t catch it - that we knew of.

I believe there is a vaccine for RSV? Not sure of the specifics.

I hope you, your wife and FIL recover without any further complications.

Rsv is some scary shit when the kids get it. My son got last year when he was 1, and was a couple bad moments away from being to taken the ER. My wife's a nurse and was asking all her friends and they all said everywhere was full and we would be waiting so we gave the breathing treatments at home and monitored like crazy. Couple friends had there kids in the ICU for a few days as well.

My at the time 5 year old was fine, wife and I were fine.

When we got covid my son barley had a cough but RSV was no joke.

The little ums get it worse then anyone as far as I have seen. (not downplaying the effects on others, have not seen) So bad I went into protective mode a time or three. Anybody that has watched a small child go through something like this understands. I do not remember the details of what they had or might of had each time, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc. but not sure I ever heard RSV. I only paid close attention to the best way to care for whatever they had.

Sidenote, those little ums have brought me the most miserable colds, flus, whatever you want to call them, then I can remember EVER having. I do not see a Dr for that kind of stuff so no idea what I might of had.

Yup. Used to think I had a good immune system. But I just didn't have germ factories on my face 24/7 lol.

Had to look this up...

My MIL keeps calling it RSVP 🤣

Seriously, I had covid antibodies but don’t recall h getting the symptoms. Then some new acronym bullshit that no one has ever heard of kicks my ass for 3 weeks

With 2 young boys, I’m looking forward to getting every disease under the sun well into my 60’s 😭

My Daughter had it pretty bad. Took months and she got it right at a year. Not two weeks after that she had Roseola (Baby Measles) and then RSV again.

I was told the virus can mutate and combines with other viruses present hence the baby measles.

She's 24 now and never gets sick. So that's the bonus of dealing with it. It is the crib death virus but not so much at a year old.

I have seen Toy Story at 3:00 am about 250 times. "There's a snake in my boot" bite him just this once...I digress.

Shouldn't you be wearing a mask while moderating? ;):)
