Thinking about possibly having an RV garage done, could be separate or attached not really sure yet. Just wanted to get some contacts and maybe a few recent experiences here. Thanks!

My buddy just built his RVG as a owner builder, not 100% final from city yet. His is attached to the house and existing garage. he is going to be over $100,000 all said and done but he re roofed his entire house also had the house re stucco’d to match and all new paver driveway is in the works.

He got quotes & they were all over the board. He is in construction and did a lot on his own.

You have to be out almost every week to see whats going on and make sure everything is to your liking during the actual build

All most done and it took over a year from drawing plans submitting plans and getting approval.

In order to get your elevation ( 14 ft tall door ) approved you need to have the space surveyed that takes a 4-8 weeks

He is happy so far only had one trade that kinda went sideways
But it all worked out.

I dont have any of his contacts.

Things just kinda worked out the truss guy has a framer he likes, framer has a drywaller & stucco guy he works with

Etc

The project never really sat idle waiting ….

It was good .

If your not a construction guy might be best to have someone do it for ya.

I will just share that a buddy of mine is still not completed over 2 years in on his garage with casita above build. Costs more than doubled and it’s not my place to drop the name of the contractor because I don’t know where it all stands or even know it for sure but if someone pushes you to do Cost+ in Havasu to “Save you money” don’t do it. Lining up your own subs and getting the work done as an owner builder is one thing but this guy inflated invoices and got the most expensive subs possible to increase his own profit. My buddy had to start booking his own subs and gathered original unaltered invoices from the completed subs to hold the costs to anything reasonable. You can spot the scam when the material prices are all whole dollar amounts and no cents on the material invoices but by then it’s too late.
