With desert season coming up I decided it was time to upgrade the mattress in my toy hauler and couldn't find much in the way of correct sizing from online stores (camping world, amazon, etc) that were in stock or had a quick turnaround. A friend suggested I look into a company called The Mattress Man out of Downey and I decided to give them a call.

I ended up with a residential style mattress custom made to fit my hauler (they check the trailer model to make sure it fits) that has both a soft and firm side. This is probably the best upgrade i have done thus far as it is so much better than stock rv mattresses even with a pillow topper. They have different options to choose from and even delivered to my door down in San Diego within 3 days of taking my order.

Since so may RDP members have trailers of some sort, i thought this may be useful to those looking to upgrade their sleeping arrangements.

Mattress Liquidators in Rancho Cucamonga did the same for me. Custom cut the length to be shorter for the slide. Nothing beats a true real mattress in your RV.

We just did the same but went a basic route to replace the futon type it came with. Mattress was made to exact dimensions we gave him. Great Family business!

OEM Travel trailer mattresses are the worst! However you do it, upgrade ASAP!

i got lucky, my cabover takes a standard queen. the only issue we had was thickness as most decent replacements are thicker now and we had a hard limit of 8" due to cabinets opening.

Mine was under 400 bucks but i believe he has other options that range both lower and higher than mine.
