So I’m thinking about maybe putting a small scoop on my engine hatch. But i do not want the prostock style one I’m thinking something sleek and only a small pop up in the rear, like the eliminator Daytona’s of 2008-2012. Anyone with pics of scoops I’d greatly appreciate seeing others ideas.

Will it be upholstered or just a painted material?

This is almost exactly what i needed to see. You recall what they charged to do it?
I left the hatch with them for a couple weeks. I want to say in the $1000 dollar range. They completely re carpeted the inside of the hatch and clearanced areas for the tops of the headers too that rubbed from going to a tall deck motor from a shoe deck. Very pleased with the work.

Did you notice a difference an performance
Yes... I heard it gained 348h.p. & 297 lb/ft of torque with "the change". Lol
He did an engine upgrade too which required the extra scoop air.

The reason I ask is I have a 540 carb motor in mine.the only air it’s getting is from the grab handle holes in the back of the boat

I’m sure it’d help a little bit the difference in noise may not make worth while. Shorten your side panels inside and it’ll pull air from other areas.
mom personally only looking into this as i just might need a little more room on my boy real soon.

On the 496, it will just increase noise. I monitored the sensors while cracking the hatch at speed and there was zero difference.

I was just messin with ya dude, I hope I didn't offend you. Your bilge/engine bay will draw air from the various gaps around the rear seat base, back seat, eng. cover etc. in addition to the grab handle vents. At the rpms your turning you, as well as most peeps, are prolly fine without a scoop.
