I have a friend looking at a 25 Tremor & 26 Razor. Both have equivalent power package 496 HO as well as MCOB. For a family sport boat what are the positive or comparison between these two boats. He wants to stay under 45K.

The Razor 260 is a taller, bigger boat. Be aware it is harder to get into and out of from the front while beached (you or kids may need a tall stool or a short ladder) but it is slightly roomier inside.

Depending on the setup of the Shockwave it may only have a doorway pass through to the mid cabin, while the Razor is completely open and typically has 2 coolers there, one on each side of the boat. I like this about the Cobra better.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, just look at them and see what layout is best. They both are well built boats.

I'm sure other's will have more detailed info, but the Tremor seems to have a reputation of being one of the better riding boats in the class. It's big for a 25' (no molded swim step) with high relatively freeboard and 24 degree deadrise hull that helps cut the chop.

People seem really happy with their Cobra's too, (which are also big for the class) and has a molded swim step, and 22 degree's of deadrise as primary differences.

Other than that personal pref for color/graphics, condition, service records, and price are going to be the determining factors.

Sounds like a win-win.

I've had my tremor MCOB for 12yrs and I still love it. For me I love how big it feels for a 25. The mid cabin entry is so tall and wide, the space between the captain chair and passenger is also wide and the swim step touches the water making it easy to get in. Everything about the boat works great and I wouldn't change a thing even the Bimini is super easy. I just got back from Powell for a week and no complaints even after 12yrs. Both great boats love the styling of the Cobras cant go wrong with either.

Both are solid boats. I would get whichever boat I felt was better maintained and is overall cleaner.

I don't think you will find a 260 for $45k or under. There are several looking to buy.

My reason for my purchase of the 260 was that it is a big boat for
It's class
sits high rides high eats up Mohave basin very important to me and
what we use it for
lots more leg room between back seat and
driver and shotgun that I found while shopping
Works great for tubing and skiing
hard to keep a good low speed for wake boarding
Being a tall boat I do use a step latter for beach boarding
little 2 step from staples
Overall has been everything I expected
Perfect turn key 496ho well maintained for 11years now
Like said ether one is great pending maintenance and overall care
But 45k may be a hard one to find
Good luck with the hunt
Only 1 of 2 best days of owning a boat :drink

My best friend owned a Tremor for 10 years and absolutely loved it. I'd been on it several times and have to say it rode like a much bigger boat. He moved on to the Shockwave Deck 😜

This might be the most important piece of information posted....

Both are good boats....Based on how I was treated when shopping new back in 2005 I could never recommended Cobra.

I didn't end up buying either of the listed boats (I bought a new 05 Sleek Enforcer) but a 25' Tremor was #2 on my list and I would have no problem referring a friend there.

Not much help if buying used, but I believe the Tremor can be optioned with a liner now.

Nice option if buying now.

Do you happen to know if these boats include the swim step in the length measurement of the boat?
