Are you looking for ideas or do you already have a rig? There is so much information related to this topic. If you could provide a little more info., it might get the masses more involved. 👍

Yes, trying to sort through best accessories and set ups....racks, long travel suspension brands, portals or no portals, PCI or rugged? Getting exhausting on youtube!

The best "Expedition" rig I have ever used! It has traveled more than 20 states and 20k miles, has a bed that is always set up, and the 4WD works great. I also have a truck when I am not camping! We crossed the continental divide over 20 times (we quit counting) and averaged 14mpg. We call it the Mullet!

I was wondering what platform you're looking for for. Are you starting with a 1 ton diesel like mentioned above, with a self-contained camper in the bed? Or are you looking for something built off a Land Rover or Land Cruiser? Are you using a traditional lightweight tent, or are you hoping to install a rooftop tent? There are literally tens of thousands of different ideas/options out there when it comes to ANYTHING "Overland" related.

For example, it wouldn't make any sense to suggest upgrading your leaf springs if you have a linked suspension on your truck.

If I was building one (and I am on the edge), I would use the new JRI Suspension 72" mid travel kit (formally known as HCR). A set of 15" Method Beadlocks, wrapped with 33" BFG KM3 UTV tires. Fox has the QS3 shocks available for these too. No portals! I prefer Rugged Radio, but your preference both are good.

Shade the windows down with some ceramic tint, a full candy wrap (lots of good places to go to, I like Wolf Designs and ProLine Wraps).

Make that think thing thump with a setup from Rockford Fosgate! They make a plug and play set up that is simple and loud!

Racks and bumpers, I have liked the DRT stuff that I have seen lately, the parts flow well with the unit. Add some Baja or Rigid lights and you should be good to go.

edit; I wish it were this easy. my time in research, and coordination for my rangercrew build was exhausting.

Thanks Throttle just the info direction I was looking for! JRI was where I was leaning. I guess it's one of the former HCR guys that branched out?
