Stock is = 32 x 10.5 x 14r.

Do I want generally want Paddels / Rims that are:
Not as tall as stock (30's) and wider than stock (15")

OR

Do I want stock height and close to stock width when it comes to paddles.

I'm new to this crap.

Thank you for your help.

What type of car are these for ? What’s your driving style? Aggressive? Like to turn ? Drift? Drag race ?

A lot of styles to choose from to match budget and driving style. Typically the tires would be wider and at minimum same height as stock . Real aggressive paddles will blow belts if you have a heavy foot .

On our 2019 Wildcat XX we’re running System 360

paddles front and rear 32”x8”( I believe) front and 32”x12 rear. Picked them up for $500 and used one time. They work great for my N/A car and improved duning a bunch compared to running my 32” dirt tires.

Well,
It's a 2022 Can Am x3 turbo rr
First car I've owned.
I'm a dirt bike guy.
So, let's just say I'll drive this at Glamis like a Puss, since I don't know what I'm doing.

I would like to spend around $800 for a set.
I don't need any fancy ass shit.
I will probably only go to Glamis once a year.

There are some used sets on Facebook.
But want some basic info b4 I pull the trigger on one or the other.

Thank you

For once a year. Air down save ur money.

I would go with a 32” #1 cut molded paddle. As light weight as you can afford. The lighter the better.

Agreed to just air down for once a year. We have a guy in our group with the same car that also only sees the sand once a season. He does pretty good with the dirt tires aired down.

Don’t stop pointed up hill of any size and if you need to turn down while riding a dune cause you are not making it up then keep enough momentum to do so and loop around and take another try at it.

If you had the money burning a hole in your pocket then I would stick to a 32 “ or 33” wider paddle since it will stay on the top of the sand vs the skinnier paddles that tend to dig .

All good info thank you.

Last question:
What if I just do some rears for $300 or $400.

Worth it?
Or
Just stick to the air'd down dirts?

I just did a trip with stock tires on a turbo s so 32 ITP coyote tires aired down to 14ish psi. For one or two trips a year it was perfectly fine. Went through all the “big dunes” no problem.

If I was going to get paddles it would be hard to pass on a set of the 33 TENSOR set up with method bead grip rims. I’ve seen them for as low as $1650 for a complete set.

I would just air down. But even though you are running ok horsepower, whatever you do, don't go and over paddle your car! It just robs the heck out of the power, you want your RPM's and some slip.

I just run paddles on the back. Found a used set of STU 32" on Craigslist, they are the same height as the front tires. Are you in Phoenix now? I'll ask my son if he knows of any used ones around, he does mobile tire and wheels.

What is considered "over paddle" for my car?
(So I know)

A semi "good deal" that I found local, on a new set is....
REAR:
31×13.5×15r. With System 3 DS340 / 15 paddle
&
FRONT:
31x11x15r. With Mohawks

Would a 15 paddle be too much?

Yes 15 is to much. Could you run them yes, will it be fun? So so to no, I myself would be looking for 11 paddle and no more than 12. But with that being said, that's how I drive, I like my car to be able to rev really quickly. I can run with or at least stay up with built cars. The fronts will work great!

Thank you for that info.

Question:
Is a 15 paddle "too much", if I am hammering it from a dead stop and flooring mid throttle?
