Does anyone do this or know of someone?
Should have been more specific, was heading out of the office.Simulation of what?
Let me ask a couple of coworkers. We do steady state and dynamic simulation for things like refineries, chemical plants, distillers and brewers even. We do have some products for mining as well, and I am sure we work with what you are describing as well.Should have been more specific, was heading out of the office.
Material handling using conveyors showing the flow of product in a warehouse.
Appreciate that....Let me ask a couple of coworkers. We do steady state and dynamic simulation for things like refineries, chemical plants, distillers and brewers even. We do have some products for mining as well, and I am sure we work with what you are describing as well.
The company I work for is AVEVA, we do a lot with Unified Operations Centers where all this data from conveyors, forklifts, any assets, are all pulled into one datasource and screen so you can optimize to your hearts content as well as simulation and asset management. We have a large portfolio of tools for various things to feed these, but are product agnostic, and plug into everything. I found case studies with what you are describing, I have asked a couple friends to let me know if its from another brand that we are consuming and doing our own calculations on or one of our own products.Appreciate that....
Thanks again.... When it comes to this we are so far behind the knowledge its not funny. The company I work for is AVEVA, we do a lot with Unified Operations Centers where all this data from conveyors, forklifts, any assets, are all pulled into one datasource and screen so you can optimize to your hearts content as well as simulation and asset management. For me, I design the Sales Platform with tools like Salesforce/D&B/Oracle/etc, but I come from a chemical engineering family so only know that one part of the catalog at a decent level. I'll let you know.
I had a quick call with one of my coworkers, and he mentioned FlexSim as you had stated. He said its a pretty cool tool as it can not only allow the user to model the design, and use standard components, but allows for some simulation and optimization of design as well. This is the kind of data we would then bring into our UOC to show how the asset is performing, and then be able to predict when best to perform maintenance, de-bottle neck a supply chain, you name it.Thanks again.... I'm looking into the for visual concepts for trade shows. I'm done trying to bring in equipment and build it in a $40k booth space spending all this $$$. I would rather have this and be able to use it in more places with just a monitor.
Shit, it doesn't even need to really work flow wise, the protentional customer doesn't even know what they are looking at half the time. It's just to get their head wrapped around it.
Thanks again for taking the time to look into this...I had a quick call with one of my coworkers, and he mentioned FlexSim as you had stated. He then asked about what your company would be looking to drive with it being modeled, is it simply for demonstration, or looking to provide a packaged solution on assets running in a warehouse, etc. Or, looking to improve designs to ensure it can handle disruptions, changes in feed material, or any other variable, etc.
Sorry I could not be of more direct help, but from the quick look that tools seems well suited to serving many purposes and can be incorporated into larger solutions of design, simulation, optimization, and monitoring & control of a plant.
