Where's the best place around?

I like the Fish Joint in O'side (across the street from Ziggy's dealership).

It's run by a bunch of 30-sumthin tatted up white guys. It's decorated with local artists' work and they play classic rock on the stereo. Have micro brew beers and has a cool vibe. The sushi is always fresh made with killer homemade sauces with names like the "Chronic Roll, Scooby Snacks and Hogs Breath.

It's kinda small but everything works we;;. Jason Moraz celebrateded his 30th Bday there and broke out into an impromptu(sp?) concert. Wish I would've been there for that...

So what else is out there???

I always liked I Love Sushi on Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa. I haven't been for a few years, but it used to be very good.

Sugarfish in Brentwood for best authentic sushi around. No fancy named sushi or show here, just 3 different "trust me" menus by the legend Chef Nozawa.

Hide Sushi (pronounced he-day). http://www.yelp.com/biz/hide-sushi-japanese-restaurant-los-angeles

The BEST sushi restaurant I have been to in So Cal. They only do sushi. None of the fried rolls etc....

Be prepared to wait. When we go on a Friday or Saturday night, it's usually 30 minutes to 1 hour wait but it's worth it. The sushi is really Fresh. Also they close the doors at 9pm so if you're there before 9 you'll be fine but no new customers after 9pm.

Also, they take CASH only. No cards accepted.

Love Boat Sushi is excellent! They have a few different locations. We tend to go to the San Marcos one.

Penny Lane, Redondo Beach. They play old Beatle music and the sushi chef looks like a young John Lenon:champagne::champagne:

The one off of Hwy 76 in O'side is really good. More traditional and the sushi chefs are a blast!

Fri & Sat they have a guy who plays guitar and is really good. Adds a lot of ambiance...

X2 on Masa and Sushi Oaks. Used to go to Masa a bunch but I think he retired and his kids run it now.

The Landing in Westlake is a pretty cool place with good sushi over looking the Westlake Lake.

We've been to Love Boat a couple times, I think all their food tastes the same. Drive the extra mile and go to Katsu in restaurant row. Trust me...
