what’s your favorite sun block? Looking for something that works and lasts without having to reapply every hour.

I am a creature of habit.
I grab the orange tubes.

Bannana Boat SPF 50 we lather it on thick at the house before heading out and we take the Bannana Boat SPF 50 spray cans for touch ups during the day.

Banana boat Sport spray on is pretty much the best without going exotic and expensive. It’s chemical based so it sinks into your skin which is better. Stays longer and not greasy

We use sun bum. We also use the kids version on my 4 and 3 year old. Knock on wood they have never been burned. I’d say re apply every 2.5-3 hours with any sunscreen though.

I use whatever is around. My wife like to buy the Supergoop sunblock and it works pretty well but it's expensive. We were in Naples, Fl for spring break taking an airboat tour, and our boat driver said to google "Korean Sunblock" or buy it off of Amazon because it works the best. We will probably try some this summer once we get out on the boat

I like Hawaiian Tropic Sheer because it's non-oily. I've also bought a bunch of long/short sleeve SPF shirts over the past couple of years.

Nutrogena SPF 50. Got a bunch of bottles free from a racing event and been using it ever since. It seems to work and isn't super greasy.

I also always wear a hat and a long sleeve collared shirt regardless of the temp (I'll jump in and get wet as much as possible). Trying to avoid any more dermatology operations!

We get some industrial SPF 30 from work that feels like your putting on a hard plastic suit, it works great, I'm sure it's giving me cancer, but I don't get burnt.

Sun bum, alba, blue lizard work good and dont have oxybenzone in them. Anything with zinc in it works good too.

Second question, how long do you wait to go in the water after applying either lotion or spray?

Clear Zinc - Hands Down !

for your face, ears, Mellon - apply before you leave the casa ! Let dry

It needs to dry clear ! Goes on white and then dries clear. I usually do 2 light coats on nose, ears, cheeks & neck - light coat on my hands

wear a UV shirt long sleeve shirt - dries fast & light weight

Dont forget a hat !

Maui Babe or Baby Oil

It helps the vinyl in the boat have that armor-all shine.

Side note, I have had guys be very vocal about brands in there boats. What is the word on that? any brands that you do not allow on your boat?

I should make this it's own thread. if it gets traction I might

That all depends on how tight the floss / G string is….

Water Babies 50 is pretty good and has most of the bad stuff out. Zinc products are the safest right now.;)

We have been using Freaks Of Nature lately and really like it. Not heavy and doesn't feel like a rubber suit - like most said put it on before leaving the house and again in the afternoon and good to go.
