Make a long story short I’ve always driven the drive boats currently have a 24 Lavey and just picked up or about to a 28 foot conquest what could I expect different? I also throw an anchor out and on the V Dr. it’s easy to clip it onto the front. Any tips on the deck boat clipping it onto the front

Long arms.🤣
.
I've wanted to attach a short 1 to 2 foot long loop of anchor rope on the bowhook so it's easier to grab/clip on. Seen a few others with it before too. Guess I haven't done it yet because we usually are on a beach.

Congrats on the new boat. What power is in the new ride. If it’s a 496, it’ll be a pretty quick and easy transition. They ride pretty wet especially with a full load. If it’s big power then take it easy until you get some seat time. We went from a Nautique to a Magic. I really liked the switch. Wife loved it. Smoother ride and she could bring the whole house with us.

Has a 525 my old Lavey had a 496 current one has a 7.4 for the power I’m sure will take some getting use to?

The ride in moderate chop is pretty badass. Makes for a nice trip up/down the river. The 525 is going to be great getting on plane quick and getting on top of the water.
PS. Tying off on the beach sucks. Magic was a pain. Current boat requires crawling on hands/knees to clip in.

Perfect power package for that boat. Is it the topcat 1 or 2? Anchoring on any deck is a pia to clip i usually have to jump in. Post pics.

Has low hrs couldn’t resist 140hrs View attachment 1498575
you will be amazed. It does almost everything better.
We did the same swith similar to you but we have the Fundeck.
Anchoring on ours isnt to bad as I dont have the platform between the sponsions. Turning while moving fast is different and take your time there. I didnt and accidentally through my step dad across the boat the first trip out. LOL

You should be able to find an elastic snubber line that you can hook to the bow eye. Then clip it up onto the deck somewhere. Maybe you have to fashion a mount of some sort.

Turns as Hondo said... Took me some getting used to the way the deck boats turn compared to the V's. You're going to love the space. Docking is easier as well without the narrow snout of the Lavey. Congrats on the new float!

Get a rug for the deck you can set the box anchor on to open and close it. I usually clip the rope on to the bow before throwing the anchor. Or run 2 slide anchors

I went from a 25’ Nordic Rage to a Topcat 1 with a 525. I love all the room. We had 11 people on it and went to Topock from the London Bridge. What a great day that was with all our friends.

Turning is way different but unless you make sharp turns it’s not a problem.

I forgot to mention I still have my retard moments trying to put the Topcat on the trailer. If I’m off by just 6” I have to back up the boat and try it again. I think 4 attempts was my most trys until I got it right, and no, alcohol wasn’t involved lol.

With my Nordic it would slide onto the trailer the first time, even if it was rough and windy. If it was really rough I’d lust leave the trailer a little shallow and drive it fast onto the trailer.

I haven’t had to put the Topcat on the trailer in bad weather and am not looking forward to that.
