I’ve ordered things with success from them before but man fuck those guys. Last two orders were done through the website for things that their site listed as “In Stock”

This time it’s order parts that show “In Stock” and then weeks go by with no status update, I call and they say the parts are back ordered. I said your site says otherwise and they just say there’s an issue changing status on website. They offer to cancel if I can’t find parts elsewhere. Just called 6 other places and they all said parts are on national back order and it’s 60-90 days wait. I call back DmaxStore and get a different guy than before, tell him the story and mention they must have known about the back order which is why they don’t change their status as to keep the orders rolling in from people like myself. Without explanation or remorse he says “fine, I’ll get that refunded” and hangs up.

In the past I’ve read about them taking stock parts, like ball joints, RE-boxing them and labeling them as “Kryptonite”, which is their house brand, and doubling the price because they’re “better”. Sounds to me like a bunch of dishonest NorCal douche bags with a niche market.

Cant say I havent heard a bad story or two about them but usually good things, i have personally only ordered one thing from dmaxstore.

i have personally along with a few friends purchased from Alligator performance since 2008 I usually call and talk to Holten there but everyone seems to have great knowledge and service. Pretty sure their site is updated regularly also if not they will get you comparable options.

Good luck and i got my popcorn ready!!
To bad this isnt in dieselplace.com or duramaxforum.com haha always easy to light a torch there! 🤷🏽‍♂️🍻

I used to frequent the 3 big Dmax sights but too many brand and shop loyal nut swingers there anymore. The worst is duramaxdiesels.com, every question is a stupid one in their view.

What do you want Dmaxstore.com to do to resolve the issue with your order?

The forums always took a dump and somehow attracted rednecks once the forum got sold to a corporation. I'm a PSD guy but it happened with Powerstroke.org, PSN, FTE.

DieselDash, Lincoln Diesel, and of course Kennedy Diesel are all great alternatives i have had good luck with. Especially for motor parts and fluids.

RockAuto for all other parts.

Had good luck with them but that was a while back, just ordered trans cooler and a couple of racor fuel filters for my o5 gmc, got the cooler promptly, but they said filters are on back order, be a couple weeks, no real hurry on filters, but have to see how late they show.

I haven't used Alligator before, but I see a couple of their trucks running around town and at our local launch ramp, nice trucks that sound pretty healthy. They seem to have a pretty good reputation here in town.

Another thing that irks me is websites/vendors who offer free 2-day shipping on orders over $50 etc. . . place an order then get a confirmation saying 'due to high volume we cannot offer the 2-day shipping blah-blah-blah" . . . . nowhere on their site does it say that, they wait till after you've ordered to tell you. Wouldn't have been a big deal, I just wanted a few items before a trip . . . if I knew they wouldn't have arrived before, I would've just made other arrangements, no big deal. But now that they sort of 'duped' me, I'm looking at other vendors now moving forward.

On the flip side, I placed a couple orders with McMaster-Carr . . . . they don't fuck around . . . they've got their shit wired tight, old school style.

🙏🏼 McMaster-Carr is the holy grail for us as well man same day deliveries and if only partials on your order it will be next day from the other warehouses. Great price and quality on things. Plus i love getting our yearly bible of items haha. FFFF! Grainger also lol had better luck with Zoro even though they are the same.

received my fuel filters from Dmax store today, so right about on or a little sooner then they said, so intercooler right away and filters later didnt notice when I ordered if they said not in stock on filters, but if not and you need parts right away I would be pissed

I personally had a really good experience with them just recently. Ordered fluids and filters. While checking out I typed the wrong zip code for my card and my billing and shipping addresses were different, so I knew it was going to trigger their fraud detection(have ran a few ecommerce sites before and know what triggers them). Sure enough, got a call the next day to confirm everything. Sent them the info and they said everything was ready to ship except the oil filter. No problem, I'll just pick one up locally. Guy on the phone was relatively friendly.

Received everything a couple days later and the filter showed up a few days after that. I've had companies not bother to mention they only shipped half the order, so them letting me know ahead of time was a big win in my book. Should have said "Out of Stock" on their website, but most of these smaller companies simply don't have the ability to know if every single item is in stock at every given moment. Especially when they do a lot of drop shipping as well.

The last shop I helped run, we drop shipped a ton of product from about 100 distributors and also stocked some more common stuff. Depending on the item and where it's coming from, as well as the website hosting platform, it's almost impossible to keep track of thousands of products(many of them with custom options or built to order). There isn't really a database that can simply tell you if a distributor has the product, especially with options. Our site almost always said "In Stock" on most products, unless the manufacture called and let us know randomly or we had called in another order and were notified of a backorder.

Not trying to defend, but most people are used to Amazon and expect every mom and pop ecommerce store to be the same way.

To my surprise they were good to go on warranty for the Timken hub on my LBZ. They sent me to Kryptonite. 2 day sent me a new replacement & prepaid label.

Those assholes at Cognito won’t warranty their ball joints until you return them. Fuck those guys.

Always something different for each person. I have heard about that with cognito but whats weird is i had a set of their steering center link braces on mine since 2009 and earlier this year i noticed one was cracked along with worn heims which i knew about haha. I emailed them got a response same day sent pictures and didnt even need to find original purchase order, or send the old ones back, they sent me a brand new total kit, by the 2nd business day it was at my door 🤷🏽‍♂️
Actually i still have the old ones on the truck now ha to lazy to fight those idler arm and pitman arm nuts to put the new ones on.
