Ha, yeah.

Visited a skating rink in Dubai with friends I'd known for ten years or so then.

They were blown away too.

But hey, I grew up on a MN lake.

Wasn't dodging traffic like this guy though.

Made the mistake of being the third person holding hands and going around a rink in 9th grade trying to meet a girl, she was the 2nd.
First guy was a friend and competitive speed skater, I made it to the 3rd turn till inertia overcame my abilities.

No idea what that wall was made of but it did not blink when I full body slammed it. The good part was after she realized I wasn't dead she was free to laugh her ass off, probably kissed me that night out of guilt. :p

As long as we don't have to give them 3 feet also.

Comment. That turn you took backwards while white van going through intersection and you approaching parked vehicle, you just took to sidewalk with no slowing [3:11-19] and I have no idea how you saw all that - wickedly spectacular.

Reply. 1. I never go through a red if I don't have clear information that tells me it's clear. Rule number one-never do anything blind.
2. If you see how I open up my hips when I'm skating backward, This ensures I see everything even if I'm going backward. I saw that the van was coming, so I just went with the default, which is to turn with traffic.

Comment. Looks cool and probably feels great to do, but it's all probably gonna come to an end when you end up meeting someone just as unpredictable as yourself.

Reply. The streets of NYC are predictable in nature, once you learn the flow of the streets everyone is on the same wavelength.

Right, same wavelenght. That's why there is never an accident that grid locks the city.

Says the street racer/motorcyclist. LOL

Reasonable risk are worth taking (/should be taken) if they heighten one's appreciation of life (/give life meaning).

Seems a reasonable risk to me.

Agreed. Now dragging a bunch of non-participants into it, not so much. That said, I did all kinds of dumb shit that risked others when I was younger, so not really preaching, just observing.
