I watched it. As with most pilot episodes, I'm getting used to the show. I like Tim Allen's comedy, so I'm always onboard with his shows unless it's an absolute zero. Hard to imagine that it would flop with the cast though...

I found this on Hulu tonight and enjoyed it. Felt my eyes water a few times though. Should make for a good series

It was ok. The Granddaughter is pretty funny. I’ll give it a couple shows before I rate it. I question what will happen with the shows made in California. Did the fire effect that?

Love all tim allen shows except this one the daughter ruined it for me can't watch her I tried she annoys me ...2 broke girls sucked for me because of her...loved Tim's show tooltime last man standing was friggin awesome..I had high hopes for the new show could of casted a better daughter and grand kids

The show is just ok and very predictable script. Kat Dennings is annoying except for her boobies which she’s not flashing in this role. I’ll keep watching but won’t lose sleep over missing an episode.

I cant watch broadcast TV anymore. The amount of commercials and "recap" turns the actual show into like 20 minutes of content. Along with the cheesy jokes, the artificial laugh track, etc I just cant stand sitcom shows. Id rather watch a jay leno youtube talk about one of his cars for an hour, a Cleetus McFarland, Tavarish, Finnegan, etc show. I cut cable and even youtubeTV a long time ago. Huge costs, crap quality... signed up for YouTube premium instead.

Just watched it on the box.
Tim Allen had a couple one liners that made me chuckle.
Kat Dennings is just as annoying here as she was on Broke Girls. Her voice is worse than Rosie Perez and that’s saying something. I couldn’t stand her then and I can’t stand her now.
I knew when I saw Seann Scott that they were really reaching down, not a lot of effort in casting.
It’s a troupe of liberal belligerents cast in opposition of Allen’s known stances. Not exactly a stretch, and it doesn’t take Kreskin the Magnificent to see what’s coming.
The little grand daughter is actually funny and a good fit with Allen, but overall I’d a categorize it as an effective promotional show for filicide…

I swear I kept waiting for Dan Akroid to pop up as Leonard Pinth Garnell and say it was all a joke…

Today’s worthless trivia. Tim Dick is his real name. He is my Brother in-laws cousin. My Brother in-law is a superintendent of a school. He changed his name to Thomas, his middle name. My B-in-laws Father was a Detroit cop all his life and he was Officer Dick. Sadly cancer took him out.

Just watched the second episode and it's not good. Kat Dennings makeup was put on with a putty knife and every line she has is said like a punchline without the joke, same for 2 Broke Girls which I hated. Oh well Tim, you can't win them all.

Anyone else...nothing personal and never seen her before in anything but she is not good in this role? Episode 2 was much better...almost didn't watch it because episode 1 was so bad! The flow of the show isn't good...just awkward moments and the casting is a miss. Loved Last Man Standing...

Last Man Standing is a hard act to follow.
Tool time before that. Both winners with flowing storyboards. Definitely set the bar high both times.
Good shows perpetuate themselves with better and better writing and people.


But man what a bomb this is.
Every single person in that car shop is a DEI placeholder.
From the lesbian to the wheelchair guy.
On LMS his daughters and wife challenged his opinions with intelligent thinking and questions, and he answered the same way…and made it funny.
This is just not that at all , even though it wants to be another Tim Allen vehicle?
There is no teaching from him or raising kids. (The thing that his successes have in common)
In this the daughter is grown and all in with the liberal opposition to him.
We heard about pronouns from the school teacher, and the daughter presented the teacher with the boys “special accommodations” requirements…basically he needs more time for his tests than the rest of the class or he gets flustered. lol
I had that problem once, my Dad cured me of it in about 90 seconds.

I doubt it makes it a full season, let alone a season 2.

The shows premise is a sound one for Tim Allen.
But the show seems like it’s just not built out correctly?
Not sure recasting will help.

His show “assembly required” showed a sometimes uninterested and half hearted Allen participating.
Frankly, the effort of producing both Home Improvement and Last Man Standing would be enough for most people.
Either one is a career achievement.
To go for a third is asking a lot.
To do it without the drive and commitment put forth into those shows produces what we see here today.
Half hearted cliches with <B status actors.
Frankly, if Kat Dennings won that audition you gotta wonder how many agents kept their clients from even reading for the part…

Just started watching this show.

Tim Allen’s great. Same formula as home improvement and last man standing. He and Kat play off each other really well. And mother fuckin STIFLER is in it!

Anyway, very entertaining. Glad to see Allen back.

Kat is definitely not a good actress. That is true. I couldn’t stand her in two broke girls. Thought that show was stupid and neither girls could act. But it went on for 7 seasons or some shit.

With that said, paid critics are dipshits. lol. If you liked home improvement and last man standing or Tim Allen in general you should like this show. It’s the same formula.
