I currently have Toyo Proxes S/Ts (305/45R22) on my Tahoe. I've always liked Toyo tires, but I noticed Nexen has the same size tire (Roadian HP SUV), with the same ratings for a bit less. Nexen's website says that they should last as long as the Toyo (40k). Who here has ran these tires or Nexen tires in general? Are they a good tire?

When I used to work at Big Brand tire in Paso Robles we installed quiet a few of those on SUV'S with larger wheels. Far more of those vs any other brand for that kind of application. I have never heard of or seen any issues with them.

I've had those tires on a 4Runner for about 50K miles and they've been great. Good ride, nice even tread wear, quiet. They're about done now and I'll probably look for another set. It's not an all terrain tire by any means, but a good all season road tire

I can't comment on either, but realize that a tire of given type and size will have the same rating (speed, load etc). The mileage is up to the the manufacturer to lie about.:D

I have the same Toyo's Proxes ST on my Escalade and they have been awesome. I have 50k miles on them now and they could easily go another 5k to 7k. They have worn like iron, I'm very pleased. I'm of the mind if it ain't broke don't fix it. You can still get the proxes st for a reasonable price too.

The gen 2 version of the tire looks good too - Toyo Proxes ST 2. I'm looking at these in a few months when I get ready to replace mine. Im undecided if I will stick with the ST or ST 2. But I will stick with Toyo.

Those are actually what I have now. The Proxes ST 2. I've had several sets of Toyos on different vehicles and have always been pleased, I just figured why not keep the extra $150 in the bank? It all adds up. :)

Ya I get it. I'm all for saving money too. I don't know anything about Nexen. Maybe find reviews online and see what sort of experience people have had with them. That's what I do. Good luck!

Local tire shop by me recommends the Hankooks over the Nexen although he says he sells quite a few Nexens and also hasn't heard anything bad about them.

I had a set on the F150 I had and loved them. Wear was even and I got 40k+ out of them with me not rotating as often as I should have. I would buy another set.

We had Nexen's on our Suburban. They were the same size you have. Each set lasted about 40k miles, could have gone more but I don't like to push it.
