I bought my 2005 crew cab Duramax 8' bed 2wd in 2011 with 110k miles with a salvage title. The hood doesn't line up perfectly, some of the paint is peeling and the body is mostly straight. Now has 235k, just drove it from NorCal to Phoenix and back, runs perfectly, drives straight and always has since I've owned it. New headliner last year, changed oil & fuel filter every 7-8k miles, trans just serviced, bfg all terrain tires decent, interior ok not perfect. Any thoughts what it's worth? Thanks

Kbb it and then divide that by 2

That is about what it is worth.

For me personally, it depends on why it was salvage. I have bought cars that were stolen recoveries, I have bought cars that just needed a fender. Then I have seen 2 cars welded back together.

Point is, insurance companies fix cars all the time that should go to the junk yard based simply on their value, and will junk a car based on scratch. Then in ca there is a law that if they can not repair it in 30 days, it has to be totaled out. So you could buy a brand new super car, on the way home, get a rock chip in the windshield. Make a claim and because you can not get the window in 30 days the car must be totaled. Yeah it's bs

IMO it's going to be completely subject to who you are trying to sell it to. Some people could give a shit about a salvage title as long as the vehicle will pass smog and drives nice/shows it's been properly maintained and repaired.

I would bet that Yellowboat is pretty close to the answer for the KBB value crowd who will try and steal it from you.....

I would look around a few nights and see if you can find anything similar with a salvage title and see what they are asking before putting it up.

I thought insurance on a salvage title is a no go.

I've been actively truck shopping. Sounds like a 7-9k truck.

It was wrecked on a ranch in Carefree, AZ before I bought it. Kid hit a tree supposedly. It's been spectacular for me and I won't be looking to hold out for money. I really appreciate everyone's thoughts, thank you. I just got a full time company truck so don't need this diesel any longer.

KBB lists my truck, private sale, +/- $12,000 with a clean title
