No you are speaking my language!!

Word of advice- when you are searching for a baja on CL- I had good look when I entered "street legal" in the search. You get a wide variety of stuff including motorcycles and off road cars. Good luck, they are out there and their are some good deals on stuff depending on your budget.

There's one sitting on the side of the road in Parker. It's a beater and the price reflects it, 2,800 as I recall.

I like the look of that bug, except the fuel cell in the cockpit and the harnesses that will kill you.

Bad ass, is this yours? :thumbsup

No, it's my best buds. He's in the off road industry so the car has been well cared for. He's owned it for the last 10 years or so. Looks nothing like it did when we picked it up.

I've spent thousands of miles driving and riding bitch throughout Mexico in it. Another thousand through Glamis and Ocotillo. It has never left us stranded.

It's a great car but this is nothing compared to what he's usually riding in so the other toys stay and this goes to someone who will use it more than he does.

The car was built for the long haul in mind. 500+ miles in Mexico. Nowhere else really good to put a sizable tank. The cheesy spun aluminum tanks will fit under the hood but don't get you very far. It can be changed pretty easy for the weekend warrior type.

I get what you're saying about harness, but where else can the fuel cell go?

I think he meant THAT fuel cell, without regard for it's location. It's not a real cell...its big scepter gas can without a spout basically. Get a proper steel cell with a bladder.

In the front where it was stock. That cell looks big for more range though so it probably would not fit. I'd do a bulkhead or firewall just for extra security to keep you away from the box full of fuel and replace that cell with a real fuel cell. The cell is contained in the cage it looks like, which is good.

Not knocking the car really, it looks bad ass. I'd just add a couple extra safety features. Also the cage needs a harness bar or the harnesses reconfigured. It would be pretty safe after that.

I get it, you don't have too many options with a bug. If I bought it, I would just make the changes I outlined. Seems like a pretty good deal for a capable car.

I know the car is 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag, but I would have been pretty compelled if there was a back seat, or at least room for one.

You're correct, all easy/cheap fixes. It used to have a back seat but it was a waste unless you were an 8 year old lol

Just a cruiser to go have a good time in and still be street legal for $15k. It gets a ton of attention.

I have a 3 year old..so yea that would have worked.

The footprint on this is just a little wider and longer than a 4 seat RZR I'd imagine, right?

School me on the problem with the belts???

Compressing your spine in the event of a collision.

The belt should ALWAYS rest or be anchored ABOVE your shoulders, not below.

Think of how your body will react driving forward.
