Pops had me look at his CC statement.
$198.50 charge from 'Citation Permits Processing' with a phone number.
Looked it up . . . one of those ticket contractors that cities, schools, counties use etc.
I drive his truck 99% of the time for him . . . never had any issue(s) / tickets etc. At the launch ramp, we pay at the toll arm/ booth, so no issues there.
We've never gotten a parking ticket on the windshield . . . only other place poss. was a hospital visit where we validated & payed on the way out.
Never received a ticket in the mail either.
Looked the place up online . . . lots of complaints, but the business 'appears' legit.
The number is listed as 'Data Ticket Inc.' 949-752-6937 . . . main street in Irvine.
Called the number and it was all automated & just ran in circles.

How the 'F' did they get his CC# and just apply a charge w/o ever receiving a physical ticket??
Never been on a toll-road, & don't have an account for that either.

Called the bank & filed a fraudulent charge, cancelled the card & a new one on the way.
Said they'll reimburse after completion of the 'investigation'.

Weird.

At this point, do you know what vehicle it’s for?

No, not yet. And we never got anything in the mail or email.

There is a place on a website to enter you vehicles Lic. Plate . . . but I'm already leary of the whole deal, and don't feel like giving any info to something that seems sketchy to begin with . . .

Here's a screen shot of the website I found . . .

Don't put your plate number in there, they will then have it

@4Waters . . .Copy That. 👍

I did use our City's Parking enforcement to look up any parking tickets with either of our vehicles . . . nada.
YEARS ago we had some random asshole neighbor call the cops for parking our boat on the street the night before we fished.
Fought that one, and won.
Then HB put in a 24 hr 'Hotline' you called with you trailer & truck license plate and leave it on a recorded message.
I think they did away with that as well too.

This is weird.

A parking meter paid by card and then they issued a ticket (that apparently you did not receive). that would explain the CC info? I know the meters in Newps are mostly card.

Maybe somebody cloned the card and spent the day at the beach?

I once got a random ticket from a parking enforcement service in San Diego. I went on there website and typed in the info, and they even had a picture of the car and plate. It wasn't mine. The enforcement officer transposed 2 of the plate numbers wrong. It was my plate# but they picture clearly showed the wrong numbers. It took about a month to clear up, but never had to pay, and they sent a letter stating the case was closed once it was reviewed.

That was my thought as well.
We racked our brains, and the only place we've payed to park with his CC is at the launch ramp (his truck / boat) . . . and it's $12.00 and you're in for 24 hrs.
Those charges show up fine . . . and they are tagged 'Davies Launch Ramp Alamitos Bay'.

When I or 'We' go in my rig . . . it's my truck / boat and my CC.

The saga continues.

I got hit with a similar charge a few years ago. Got a ticket on the FastTrak lanes. I have the toll strop on my window. I disputed it and they sent me to collections via a law firm. Fucking company locked up about $300 for over a year. Finally got it back but it was a nightmare

I vote for transposed numbers on a ticket of some kind... punch in your license plate and see what you can find... what can it hurt at this point?

when you get the 24 hour pass and come back next day before the 24 hours do you scan ticket again? Looking to double my 12 dollar ride.

Received many similar parking tickets from HB and beat every single one. Be sure to read the charged vehicle code. We were on a first name basis for awhile. Good times.

Someone probably stole your CC info and used it to pay for parking or pay a parking citation. Not uncommon, unfortunately.
