Are most of you bypassing a head unit? Will a few pods and a sub work for a decent system. Really just want to bluetooth music off my phone.. What is a clean simple setup for that. ?

We run Full Face Helmets w/ Race Air so when we’re driving we run tunes into our helmets via Rugged Radios Intercom. Not the greatest audio but it works.

Also have an Ultra Stealth Soundbar to listen to when we’re just chilling somewhere. The soundbar is impossible to hear clearly while driving with full face helmets.

PCI earmuffs with music from phone via a cord. It works great and my unit has a VOX control so I can adjust that for wind noise and just low enough that my wife and I can still talk even with music going. It auto low volumes the music when you speak into the microphone on the headset.

I have a few friends that have speakers all over their rigs and they have to turn them up pretty loud to hear any music when hauling the mail through the desert and mountains. I however am hard of hearing and the earmuffs work so much better as SXS's are very noisy by themselves and then add engine noise on top of that. Plus no need for a dual battery setup with earmuffs.

Soundbar is the easy button. You could also build a system as you noted. Wet sounds are nice. The Bazooka sound bars perform pretty well too and are a lot cheaper.

For $75-$100 you can get a water resistant bluetooth head unit or audio controller. From there you can wire speakers directly off of it, or add a UTV amp(s) sub, speakers, and the sky is the limit from there.

In my holy grail Rhino that is currently for sale I have a Boss UTV bluetooth head unit and (2) 6.5s and (2) 5.25 speakers wired directly to it. No amp. Not a ton of bass as you can imagine, but it works well for something to listen to while hanging out, and would be cheaper than a soundbar.

Unless your rhino has a dual battery or larger battery setup, be wary of going nuts with the audio, as it just has a small battery on board.

JL Audio SXS system. Two six inch door speakers under dash, two six inch pods on the back of the cage, and a sub under the dash with a Bluetooth receiver. Works pretty well. Need one of those wet sound bars. Just not sure how much of my rear view I want to block.

RZR Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 system. 4 - 6.5 speakers, 1 -10 subwoofer. 2 amplifiers and head unit. The sound is hard to beat for the price.

Ssv works makes clean panel mounted BT setups.

My biggest issue in the desert, like the river, was getting good enough service on my phone to stream Spotify. Last thing on my mind when going out to either was having to create playlists or making sure I had music downloaded so I had music to listen to. Said fuck it and went xm.

I'm running an Xm Onyx to the SSV Works USB35AVC through the aux in the back. Kicker 43DSC69304 D-Series 6x9's in the front and Kicker kmmtes 4 pods in the rear on the Kicker PXA 300.4

Decided to not run a sub because I thought it was kind of pointless in my rig because of how loud it is.

I wanna go your route like u have in your rhino. Happen to have any pics of your setup? Mostly the boss unit. My rhino has 3 batteries and a isolator. So in that situation should i wire the head unit to the isolator..??

Here you go. I’d review the wiring of the batteries, but yes my initial thought is to wire it to the isolator, or if you are going to dedicate 1 or 2 batteries to the stereo, wire it to those.

This Boss head unit does not have a clock or anything so I don’t think it drains any power when it is off. But I had the old head unit on a switch, and this one is too. I added the Aux and USB plug as well. My 5.25 rear speakers are mounted in the angled piece at front of the bed. My front 6.5s are under the dash.

Looks good! Crazy that lil guage unit powers all those speakers without a amp. Gonna look into one! Thanks:D

It’s got like 35w or 40w x 4 channels like a regular head unit does. The entire back of it is a heatsink. If it is not enough you can always add an amp!

It is nothing amazing but it works.

I went to Wired for Sound, they did a great job, 4 speakers, Sub and amp, bluetooth control unit. Sounds great even at high speeds,

I did a rugged car to car radio and an intercom unit that allows us to plug an aux cable (now Bluetooth avail) thru our headsets. It’s fine for the intended purpose but what I need is TPC’s kicker setup for when we stop to hang out for a cold one.
I would love to redo mine or just add the kicker or rockford system, just not on the priority list.

Dusty here at the dunes but the Rockhard Fosdick fits and works nicely. You have a back up screen too and it’ll Bluetooth to your phone or tablet as well.

Kicker speakers in SSV housings. Looks much better IMHO.
System one of the best sounding Ive owned.

Are the side kickers on spacers mounted to the kick panel?

Two trips without a sound system even has my wife ready to pull the trigger. Where’s the go to place for the Rockford Fosgate systems?
I’m thinking stage 3 with a wet sounds bar or stage 4..
