Curious why canam uses a three radius rod designed vs others with a two rod design.
More parts to break.

What is that parked next to the CanAm? I originally thought it was a bug but the headlights, seats and the scale have me second guessing. It just works View attachment 1315821

Ya. Found some of your posts on it. That's a nice looking oval window. I'm amazed at how the CanAm dwarf's it.It’s a beetle
Thank you. The canam is pretty big and the Vw is pretty smallYa. Found some of your posts on it. That's a nice looking oval window. I'm amazed at how the CanAm dwarf's it.
That's definitely what it appears to be for. It being in line with the axle centerline has to be more for alignment purposes than triangulation. Kind of makes sense, seen a few other cars that could use some adjustments after bad landings. In theory It allows a better alignment of the toe through the suspension cycle vs. solid mount to the trailing arm for the toe.
I had an x3 before this one and the R is a complete different car other than the seats@82daytona
How do you like the New R?
Have you driven an X3 ? If so what are the differences that stand out to you?
Your R looks sweet!

Canadian engineering eh.
Weight reductionThat’s the plastics flying off as you drive.
Move that camera to the right and show us more of that sled.It just works View attachment 1315821
That and Polaris had patented 2 radius rod design already.
This is what I was thinking it was for.In theory It allows a better alignment of the toe through the suspension cycle vs. solid mount to the trailing arm for the toe.
The battery location is definitely Canadian engineering. Although I've had worse.Canadian engineering eh.

I've been working on it. Have to replace all 12 rod uniballs. Those are not cheap. Discovered cracks in the chassis. Welded some reinforcements. Engine seal leaking, steam clean and re-torque. Prepped CV joints, a lot of $ in axles on my bench.

Have you seen the 2022 rear knuckle upgrade for older x3?I've been working on it. Have to replace all 12 rod uniballs. Those are not cheap. Discovered cracks in the chassis. I see what ya did there..
I never thought of replacing those. What's the issue with reusing?Make sure you use new C-clips when you put the half shafts back together..
