Worthless Crest Warranty Experience

I recently had a poor warranty experience with Crest. One toon had a weld split from freezing. Water had infiltrated through pinholes in the toon support on the top side. it probably took years to get enough water inside to do this. The boat is stored inside unheated storage during winter. Crest had me take the boat to the nearest dealer, 100 miles away. There is absolutely no damage to either toon. After several months, the local dealer had a Crest selected welder weld the split. he claimed to pressure test the toon after repair. Crest has a lifetime transferable prorated warranty on the hull, which in my case was 50/50.
I was not comfortable with the welder, whose primary occupation is wildland firefighter during the summer, snowmobile repair in winter, jack of all trades in a very small town the rest of the time. I took the boat to a local welder and boat repair in my town to verify the adequacy of the repair. he pressure tested it and found the factory defective weld (mentioned above). he said there is no way the first welder could have possibly pressure tested the toon, as it would not hold pressure and you could hear the leak.
I (and the local welder) contacted Crest and asked them to pay their share of the lifetime warranty for the work of the second welder.
After much delay, and favorable expectation, they denied any responsibility or payment, saying the pictures they had from the dealer showed the toons had been damaged. None of the pictures showed and damage at all. The dealer and I did not part on good terms. The only way Crest could have pictures of damaged toons, is if they were from another boat, not mine.
So either Crest is lying, or the dealer is.

My experience is that lifetime warranties, limited or not, are worthless. Especially Crest. Delay, deny, defend!

Good to know. Thanks for posting.
I contacted Crest, let's see if they come into the forum and respond.
