Generous offer for a young person perhaps perusing a career , believe it or not I recently dug out one of my college auto tech text books for a "refresher" on horse power and Torque

Going to recycle Saturday, somebody take it.
Would they be useful for the “home mechanic” I realize they would likely not be car model specific. But just general information… on how to ? Or are they like versions of trouble shooting?

They are subject specific books with quizzes and some broad range

My little nephew went to Wyotech out of high school.
He became a Diesel Mechanic at a big mine in Utah.

Makes more money than any of the grandkids in our extended family.
Has a big ass house up there and is still in his 30s.

Should'a went with him to that damn school.
😑

I too went to Wyo Tech, in Laramie. I graduated from there in ’96. I changed careers in ‘08 though.
My son went, in 2004 working at a stealership now, but the way he explained it to me was. Mechanic tool boxes have wheels because they get different jobs all the time. …..

I worked at a chevy dealership, race car mechanic (NHRA), and then did heavy equipment. I then Became a fire apparatus mechanic and then somehow became a FF/PM. I’d say it did me well and I use my experiences from my previous lives everyday.

My wife’s son went to the Sac school. He graduated about 10 years ago. Got a job at Audi as a tech. He is now Master tech and making a pretty good living at Sonnen Audi.
Working for Audi he'll be busy with their kickass interference engines. 😜

Another grad here from Laramie in 99.
Also a grad. Marine division at Daytona. Graduating class of April, 2009. I still remember how much I paid to the dollar and I didnt get any loan forgiveness either.

I still have all my books and manuals, I was just looking at them a couple days ago actually

Laramie class of 2002 here. Never knew there were so many techers here! Took night classes. Still remember the techer 500 at 1:45am to get in line at the drive thru liquor store before they stopped selling at 2. Also nothing like being in the large shed building and hearing the tornado sirens go off! Laramie was definitely a experience I learned to hate -30 in the winter isnt for me.
