for those of you that know I have been fighting issues with my truck for a couple years now. I had one of the first Dodge's with the "new" suspension. to have a large lift on it (8"+) since the truck was about a month old it has been in and out of the shop getting this fixed or that modified in order to get the geometry correct and whatever other issues would arise. I finally decided last week enough was enough and I went down to see the guys at outlaw offroad (per the recomendations of some on the boards) After talking to them for some time, we came to the conclusion to tear everyhting off and start over. I decided I was tired of the 9" lift and went with the 6" long arm kit from pro-comp.

I have put about 500 miles on it in the last 2 days and can say I am completely happy with everyhting and it now rides better than it did when it was stock. :thumbsup:D The only downside is the girlfriends tits wont bounce as much driving down the freeway :grumble:

Here is what the truck looked like with the old lift. I do miss the height but its much easier to get in and out of now.

Here it is with the new kit.

The old front end was a mix of a 7" kit and 2" spacers. you can see the control arms and the extreme anlge they are it.

this pic shows how out of whack the geometry was in the front end (not the angle of the shock.
Dodge017.jpg

Pics of the new front end notice how everythign is aligned.

The highlight of this kit is the fact that the control arms are relocated and moved back for a much straighter angle.

the rear had blocks that looked like shit in my opinion and the fox shocks that no matter how many times I had them worked on they were never right for my truck

The new blocks look much better, as well as the new shocks were are valved for this particular application.

i do have to say i didnt like their attitude when I first walked in, but they definitely know their shit. and I am very happy with their service. some of the stuff that rols out of that shop is pretty bad ass. I wish i would have taken the truck there in the first place.

It's an acquired taste. LOL. I went down and had a Carli kit put on mine. It rides great and just barely... still fits in the garage.

I was tempted to go carli and go much smaller lift. but I dont have the scratch for new tires right now and still have to run 37's. going this route pretty much wiped me out. especially with reg due and xmas coming :(

I hear that. I'm running 37 Toyos on mine with no rubbing. Sage and Mike do a pretty nice install job.

Yep Toyo M/T's. I have the same size on my Jeep and we run a lot of them on our lifted work trucks. They really take the weight on a loaded truck and they are very quiet so long as you keep rotating them. I got 50K out of my last set on my Ferd...

My new truck is so quiet it is freaking my family out. No noise at all on the new 6.7. The tires fit, but just b a r e l y...

im at 60k on my BFGs and I still have about 1/4 tread left. And I was HORRIBLE about rotating them. but now that i have a company car coming the truck will be getting minimal usage and will sit in our warehouse. so somethign more aggresive will be cool.

There is nothing wrong with that! I blew a lot of BFG sidewalls taking the truck offroad, so I'm liking the Toyos. I've never had a Toyo go flat. We did the Rubicon Trail in our Jeeps in September and had zero tire issues there as well. And we were working them pretty good at 8 psi...

that was the same thing they kept saying about the BFGs and their sidewalls. I haev never had an issue (knock on wood) but I dont see much off road. some more traction when I go to the mtns in the snow would be nice though.

I have chains and do the Big Bear runs to Fawnskin like you do. I've never had to use them anywhere, and we have pushed some snow getting up and out of to ClineMiller...

How do you like the tinted windshield? Been wanting to do mine. I currently just have the 10" strip on top.

I cant stand driving a car without one ;) all my cars have had it done. it takes some time getting used to driving at night though. I always do the lightest shade possible. with the windshield a little goes along way.

I havent had an issues. I always roll all windows down before the cop gets to the car and the tint on the windshield is so light thatthey havent noticed I guess. It helps that most of them cant really see in due tot he height of the truck though. Did get a ticket in my Tahoe for the side windows (alleged reason the cop pulled me over) and eh didnt even notice the windshield.

LOL. I roll them down too. Someone told me that the tint weakens the radar signal, but then again my rear window has tint soo???

Post up pics of it from the side so we can compare ride heights from old kit to the new one.

I thought you only had $60.00 last weekend? Did that whole thing only cost $60.00...or did you withdrawl from Bank of Marilyn :D

The first 4 pics in the thread are the comparison. 1st 2 are old lift and second are new lift ;)

I did only have $60 (that was after I dropped the truck off). Unfortuantely I did have to get some help, merry xmas to me....btw, I thought u were supposed to be single? ;)

I had my rear done as a no block lift with different leave springs. To avoid axle wrap towing. It did still shake (minor axle wrap technically) when towing so now i have the traction bars on it. With those nice ones you have (traction bars) you'll not have wrap with those blocks. If you do, I have a shop down here in S.D. that does lift springs in all sizes so you can eliminate the blocks. I have pro-comps in the rear and love it. Dual foxes in the front. Never had a problem with them but one just last month blew a seal and needs a rebuild. Looks great though buddy. Now you might even squeeze into an occasional parking garage but probably not many. :thumbsup:D

If you're looking for the best traction in the snow, I would stick with the All-Terrain pattern. I did the Mudder's once, never again. They will not bite as good as the AT's especially when it's icy as fock.

I've always been a BFG AT guy, but I just put a set of Toyo AT's on and I'm very happy with them. They ride a little smoother and quieter than the BFG's. Haven't had them in the snow yet, but a friend of me who has swears by them. (We both spent a few seasons living in Tahoe, so he has alot of winter driving experience).
