Bought this flat a while ago and no clue what I have. It has a really nice rounded back side seems laid up pretty light motor is forward quite a bit like my schiada was being used until the 460fe threw a rod out the side lol that’s when I picked it up and looks to have 3 holes where the name tag on the dash would have been. Anyone 🤷🏻

Most boats have a smooth transition from the engine compartment to the back this doesn’t it has a ridge around the top

check the block of the motor, if there are bolts going into the block down both sides just above the pan rail you have a 427, if it is and the motor is rebuildable you found a rough diamond

Sorry, it's not a Hallett. That is not a Hallett deck on your boat. It's not a Lavey or a Gaylord either. Not enough flair in the bow to be a Gaylord, and completely wrong deck for it to be a Lavey, Sanger, Miller, Hondo, Kurtis, or DiMarco.

I have been looking at several boats and this one has some characteristics of several. The rail and lip on the top deck are similar to Hallett shows a clam shell mold but the transom line are wrong and it looks narrower that an early Hallett. Gel coat looks to be mid to late 60's. Agreed not a Gaylord, Let's just say that Bill really liked the Mandella top decks. I dropped some pic of Sangers, Eliminator Flat and a 67' Hallett. Not a match to any of these but that top deck is a clue to the way this boat was built. Anybody ever seen a Cal Hawaiian? I was thinking they were a clam shell mold, had an ex brother in law run off with one that belonged to my Dad and Brother, along with my Dads 69' 440 and six pack that were in the boat. So glad that POS was gone never pursued the boat.

The ski slope portion of the deck of the unknown hull is pointed in the middle of the deck, and angles off to the right and left of the hull, which the boat pictured above dose not exhibit. Also the raised gunwale around the transom is very squared off (straight) across the width of the transom, unlike the traditional horseshoe (much more rounded) shape of a Hallett, or the boat that is pictured above.

The gunwale at the transom is the tell. I agree. The boat has almost no entry also. I’m going with a “6ofem’ “
That was all they built in a garage.

Your hull was manufactured by "Nomad Boat Co."

If you end up restoring your Nomad, please share photos here!

Nice catch!

Kustom Marine was in the old Power Cat shop, later it was Howard boats. Lots of action in that old building.

When Gene moved Howard boats to Irwindale there was a left over 21 deck laying around. For some reason they didnt cut it up but drug it up on the roof. Be funny if it was still there.

I like that boat in Vegas.

Being that the hull is a "Nomad", my choice for a name would be, "PALADIN", with a cartoon of a cowboy on horseback, with a revolver in his hand, and a cartoon style speech bubble quote, saying: "Have gun, will travel!"

Youtube: "Ballad of Paladin" by Johnny Westernhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sISq3T9Yxbc

"Have gun will travel, reads the card of a man
A knight without armor in a savage land
His fast gun hire, heeds the calling wind
A soldier of fortune, is a man called Pal-a-din
Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam
Paladin, Paladin, far, far from home
He travels on to where ever he must
A chess knight of silver is his badge of trust
There are campfire legends that the plainsmen sing
Of the man with the gun, of the man called Pal-a-din
Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam
Paladin, Paladin, far, far from home
Far from home, far from home"
