NASCAR 'Clash at the Coliseum' this Sunday . . .

My buddy is painting the track stripes again this year for the race and sent some pics. / vids.
I watched it last year from home, and even though I'm not a NASCAR guy, I thought it was better than what I had expected.

I worked it last year as part of the Safety Team. For those that are going bring hearing protection! It was LOUD!

yeah i thought it was kind of odd for race but hey what ever sells tickets will be a interesting crowd

We went and had a great time, really enjoyed the racing, came home and watched it on tv and it seemed like a boring race. Much better being there.

Went last year. Was a good show, nice atmosphere. Not a great race. Very diverse crowd, 70% had never been to a NASCAR race which is what they were trying to get. Saw no issues, everyone was nice and having a good time. Had good seats for the race but couldn’t see most of the concerts except on the big screens. Will watch on tv this year and go to Sonoma and camp. Hopefully hit 1 more track this year.

The race felt like Saugus Speedway but all the cars were the quality of Dan Press, Insolo, Turkettle, Hornaday, Prosor. I know I’ve butchered the spelling of their names but that was a long time ago.

It was a fun last year. So much so that we're going again this year. It's just a cool deal to race stock cars there. It won't happen every year so might as well be a part of it while you can.

Its a free concert for the Hood around the coliseum, and if they play loud enough they should be able to enjoy it from their own homes.

They should put a cross over / cross under in the middle with a jump on the cross over for the race laps. For the pace/caution they skip that and go around the outside.

It should be every driver's dream to jump their race car like the General Lee...

Sonoma is an amazing race to watch.

The clash itself is I believe at 5pm Pacific on Fox on Sunday. If you want to watch the qualifying that is just before that, like maybe 2pm.

The Colliseum is huge. It seats somewhere around 78k people. Compare that to Dodger stadium at around 56k.

Much smaller crowd compared to last year. Day race compared to a Sunday Night Race? I think they gave away a lot of tickets last year to fill the place and try to create some hype.
