Very cool thread. I think that having the high door centered in the garage takes the blockiness away and blend it nicely to the home.
Along with raising the finish floor of the house 3' higher than the garage slab keeps the roof flow.

Thanks guys! Yeah I didn’t need the whole garage to be 16ft ceiling, but wanted one RV bay, so the vaulted trusses worked great and significantly reduced the wall framing.

Sinking the garage down was also a cost savings thing that ended up working out nice to keep it from looking like a fire station.

Lots of work getting done. Windows installed this week. Rough electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing done. Roof starting tomorrow or Monday.

Tried to think thru everything as much as possible for the electric and future proof anything else I’d want to do, especially in the garage.

240 outlets for welder and air compressor

Outlets next to garage doors for side mount openers.

This is a storage room in the garage to put the air compressor and shelving and equipment to keep it out of the garage. Trying to keep the garage area sanitary looking.

Outlets along the outside of the house for Christmas lights or any tools needing power.

Wherever there is an interior outlet on an exterior wall, we flipped another outlet to the exterior.

Yeah we thought about those and decided against it. There’s still time tho.

That’s a smart idea. He put like 5 outlets where I’m going to build an outdoor kitchen lol. I told him I needed one or 2

This. It's standard on My bathroom remodels now.

I have them here and not using them yet. I left one toilet seat off in bathroom I don't use. I have 1 new in the box. Maybe I will put it on Today and report back. I have installed a lot of them and never used 1. They say once you use 1 you can't live without.
