Mineral sunscreen. It was some organic, non gmo shit my wife bought. All went in the trash. It leaves a white residue behind

Self tanning also tans the seats material.

A lovely rdp moderator friend of ours "behind" left a Flux-Capacitor design behind on the seat.😊
After taking the evidence photos it took just a few days in sunlight for it to fade away.😎

Makes sense. Between sprays, oils, and mystery ingredients, those seats don’t stand a chance otherwise. Towels are the way to go.

Skin doesn't touch upholstery no matter what sunscreen. Wear a shirt/ shorts or put a towel on the seat was our rule at least most of the time.

My wife is allergic to most sunscreens. We have to use the mineral kind for her. It’s not too hard on the interior but much harder than normal sunscreen

So for you guys that are saying sprays, what if someone puts it on nowhere near the boat (like at the house in the morning), is that still allowed? Trying to understand if it's the fact that the spray itself could land in the boat if applied nearby or if there's something in it that causes upholstery discoloration even if it only gets transferred someone's skin. We use spray not near the boats and have not had a problem.

THIS

Any bare skin transfers stuff on the interior that degrades it. Sweat, sunscreen, crap in the water, sand all of it. I try not to be rude, but if we have newbies in the boat I politely pass out towels.

Most of us have a stockpile of dedicated boat towels right? Not beach towels but basically seat covers. For our front seats my wife took some large ass towels and stitched headrest pockets and they cover my driver seat and the shotgun seat.

It's always a polite ask. Most are pretty good either having their own boats or respecting my boat.

It gets everywhere and besides the obvious interior stain and the overspray on the paint, I ate shit and slipped and fell and injured my back and knee for 6 months. The sprayers think that if they go back on the swim steps when I am not paying attention that’s it’s no big deal. But it’s like applying a thin coat of oil to walking surfaces to purposefully kill me! I don’t want see a can anywhere near me anywhere.

Spray can sunscreen is why we can’t have nice things.

Do any of you Karen's allow any fun on your boats?🤣 I would die of stress if I worried about the little shit. But I don't have a $200k boat either hell i dont even own a $20k boat, so there is that! My boat is to relieve stress not to add to it😝 My only rule is no shoes🤷‍♂️

This is when I’m really glad I have old beater boat.
Throw a towel down and just enjoy it all.
Obviously try and be respectful but if shit happens. Its not going to ruin my day.

Now that said. With some of the rides you all have. I could most definitely see myself having a list of have and have nots.

I see. Serious stuff here. I wasn't aware it was a matter of life and death. 🙂

Run what you brung, life’s too short to worry about my interior getting stained…
This...I used to be OCD about my interior but if some sunblock can save anyone on my float the pain/suffering of dealing with skin cancer as I have over the last 25 years then so be it. The interior can be replaced...

on my hoopty i simply ask dont spray when you are sitting on a seat. theres bigger things to stress about. im on the boat to forget about those things. but im also aware some of the interiors on here cost more than my boat. your boat your rules, my biggest rules on the boat are have fun, dont be stupid.

Cleaning the spray products off windshield, gps screens, gauges, and any other overspray that comes about, only took one time, this includes insect sprays, all banned!
