Looking for low budget e-bike idea. Not sure what is out there and available. Thinking that we might have a friend or two in town and want to go for a ride from time to time. Also might have to have one for the fall RDP Newport Beach Bike Pub Crawl. Post up what you got. Thanks!!!!

If you sort of know what you're doing, you can convert a regular bike with a kit available on Amazon for about $500. I've done a couple using the Bafang kits.

Come on Dan you know that the wife and I both have Souls. I am thinking that in preparation for the fall 2025 RDP Newport Beach Pub Bike Crawl we might have. Couple of guests that we want to have bikes for. FYI, You, Debbie and her friends from SCFW are expected to attend.

I know some people that have bought some cheap e bikes on Amazon and they were total junk. Can’t get parts when they break etc. my son is saving for a super 73. These things are all the rage now.

Love the ideaR but not going to happen at the time. A bad ass old school Schwinn With electric hub would amazing but not for this event.

Sold 2 Ecotric Seagulls and went with a Rocket fat tire. Been great so far.
Looks like they already added tariffs on. These were $650 a couple months ago.
They have a store in CA where you can test ride.
Try to get one with a seat post shock. They work.

In my neighborhood, Super73s were all the rage last year, every kid had to have one.....this year its seems to have switched to Macfox...all my sons friends say the the Macfox is wayyyy better that the S73 and more affordable....

Although my family and I are pretty loyal to the S73 line

Be very careful with a cheap e-bike. The batteries aren’t UL certified and some have burst into flames while charging. DO NOT leave it unattended while charging, or charge outside.
