In my 2015 Diesel dually now. $800 with a 26k weight sticker. Same as it was new. It peaked about 5 years ago at $1200 when CA raised all the fees.

You paid about what my 2005 tundra was this year. I bought it 12 years ago for $3200.

Bought a 2016 4runner, registration is current, $15 transfer fee, Near $1200 County tax, and $150 city fees
Almost $1400 just to get it in my name. that was this morning at auto Club.

For a spare car to sit around the yard.

2024 Toyota Sequoia -- under $500 for 4yrs Oregon -- (NV reg estimate is just over $1500 for 1yr)
2023 Toyota Rav4 -- just over $200 for 2yrs Oregon
2020 Audi A4 -- $200 for 2yrs Oregon
2017 Audi A4 -- $200 for 2yrs Oregon
2008 Cad Escalade -- $215 for 1yr Nevada
2008 Cad XLR-V -- $240 for 1yr Nevada
1995 Ford Tbird SC - $200 for 1yr Nevada
2021 Infiniti Q60 RS - $73 for 1yr Virginia

We started buying our cars in Oregon since there was no sales tax and registration is very cheap compared to NV.

Not sure on how much the 30 Model A, 56 Tbird and 64 Falcon run. I forget to register them and end up paying 2 or 3yrs at time for back reg fees--its pretty cheap though.

Boat is only like $55-60 a year in Nevada. The trailer is still registered in AZ since I bought it and never been hassled about it.

2020 Durango RT bought in December of 2020 - 2024 WA State registration was 507.25. 379.00 was for the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) light rail tax. When I bought my 2019 wide body challenger the RTA registration tax hit was about 800.00 plus the registration fees.

2023 the RTA TAX on the Durango was 425.00 on top of the other charges. I as well as hundreds of thousands of people are paying for mass transit that is used primarily by homeless drug addicts going to dying city due to it's insufferable morainic ideology politicians and soon to be departing population due to the crime and drugs they allowed, and promoted to flourish. Yea, I am not happy about the direction WA State has taken, can you tell??

Hoping to save some money this year when we are officially in Idaho. Two of our cars California registration expires in July 2025 and one in Aug 2025. We should be Idaho residents about the middle of June 2025.

I'm $75 all in on my 24 year old truck here in Tx, but what grinds my gears is, despite eliminating the vehicle inspection program, they still charge the $7.50 fee that they used to charge to inspect the things.

I'm dreading buying a new 1 ton truck next year to replace my 25 year old 7.3L Powerstroke simply due to registration fees. I could register in California or Arizona at either of my residences, but you better grab your ankles in either state when it's time to pay up! I'm seriously considering setting up a Montana LLC. Between 2 Cars, 1 Truck, and a Toyhauler I'm currently looking at $4K annually in Cal or Az. It's beyond ridiculous!!!

Going to register my new 5th wheel friday. DMV estimate shows $1587.00. After this year I am seriously considering registering it in Texas with my families address.

If you can swing it get setup now for that Montana LLC. That way you are ready to go. I did that but ended up just buying and reg in Texas. You won't have to pay sales tax on the purchase in MT with the MT LLC

If you can you should......I have no idea what penalties, etc. apply if CA or AZ would go after you though based on your DL issuance

I'm in Vegas, there's plates from all over in this town. I wouldn't mind getting my TX drivers license back anyway lol. I would have registered it through my LLC in Montana but America First wouldn't let me finance it that way. All the banks in MT would only finance a minimum of 75k, and with the amount I put down I was well under that.

Hard to tell, but gas at $2.75 gal, Plates per year $42.50,Toll to and from airport $5.00 per trip. Few a year, I'll pay that. And endless summer.
I suppose there may be something less money but I'm happy. 👍
