Is there such a thing?? I know Cha-Bones does a reasonable job, I’ve never been disappointed but at the same time it doesn’t stack up to some of the premium places that Vegas has. I’ve tried a few other places that were just ok but again didn’t knock my socks off. So far I think Montana’s is the closest I’ve found to what I’m looking for.
Any other recommendations?

Best steak I've had in Havasu are the ones I get at Costco and bring with me to the lake.

Prime Center Cut ribeyes from Costco and then I trim all the silverskin off the sides, fresh ground pepper and Kosher salt
Other wise Chabones or Shugrues. Shugrues has the best seared ahi I've had in LHC. Very consistent and tasty

Yes I can do a pretty mean steak myself but sometimes ( not often ) you just want someone else to do the work.

I always liked the filet from Montana although it changed a bit a while back under new owners.

The ribeye at Mario’s. (Yes, really)

The steaks at Shugrues are good, as well.

If you’ve had great places in Vegas, there’s nothing in Havasu that’s going to knock your socks off, sorry.
I have heard that Mario’s does a great job. I tried Shugrues once and was seriously disappointed, Dennys does a better job.

I hear you @Rajobigguy.... I only grill my own once or twice a month, cuz I'm usually too lazy to make sides unless I grill asparagus or white corn in the summer.
The center cut ribeyes look like filets after you trim them up and you get to eat every bite like a filet. I grill a couple extra and eat them cold like beef jerky......
very expensive beef jerky 😁

I gotta get some of Joel's ribeyes some time, but his standard boxes are way too much meat for me. Have you had them?

Montana's is pretty good for the price, but hasn't been as consistent as they were like 20 years ago, but what is?

I will add 2 of my favorite places for steak:

La Vita Dolce
Magik Bistro

I didn’t order their steak but the one experience I had at La Vita Dolce pretty much soured it for the wife and I.
Might have to give Mail a try.

Maybe if I say you recommended it they can come up with a decent meal.🤔😀

Just drop @RiverDave ’s name.. that’s the only way to get anything good in this town.

Seriously though. Every steak I’ve had there has been great (Havasu great, not Vegas great, mind you).

Do try the ribeye at Mario’s though. I always laughed when people recommended the steak at an Italian place; but it’s legit.

Funny you should mention steak at an Italian restaurant. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while was at a little hole in the wall Italian place in Kingman.

Has anybody tried a steak at Foundry? I’ve eaten there twice, but no steak yet. Happy both times. Seems like the right kinda place for a decent steak.

Rod's was the best. Closed up and gone now, but will live in my memory forever. I think the cigarette dangling out of his mouth while he cooked over an open wood fire was the key. And the baked potatoes were incredible.

Golden Horseshoe😆
Actually the filet is pretty good there. Certainly won’t impress the OP is my guess. But pretty good for what it is.
service sometimes not so good. Well most times not the good. Go in with the right expectation and you will l be fine. they do have a little salad bar but nothing like the SHOE of yesteryear

Romanos actually had a good steak. But alas, they closed down permanently a couple weeks ago 😢

But Chabones and Montanas is it. I find them both good. Not Ruthskris or maestros status. But like others said, best steak I get is my own.

Had a filet with shrimp in hollandas sauce at dessert storm at Montanas. Pretty killer.

I still think about that salad bar sometimes.

That place has been gone for years. We went there after the first owner change and apparently the only seasoning that they had was Lipton onion soup mix. Absolutely everything had that stuff on it . The steak, potatoes, green beans and even everything at the salad bar had that stuff on it. Now don’t get me wrong the stuff has a place in cooking but that was ridiculous. 😆
I think it is now Blondzees or something like that.
Actually it’s kind of sad, I understand the place used to be pretty good years ago.

I eat at the foundry all the time.. Point in fact I’m down here having soup right now.

Food is one of the better restaurants in Havasu.

Also don’t forget about rotary on southside they are putting out good food as well!

I’d try both of those and give Shugrues another shot. Cha bones is also consistent!

Mario’s is primarily Italian but as mentioned they have a crazy good steak.

Their food here is exceptional. If you are coming tonight I enjoyed the chicken enchilada soup. They have clam chowder daily though as well!

No not tonight, my birthday is the end of the month and I’m just looking for options.

Sounds like we had a bad experience at Foundry - went there last weekend, 4 of us all had steak, it was average at best. Might have to give it another chance.

Foundry has been horrible every time I’ve tried it. I never send food back and at foundry I found their food inedible. Clam chowder was disgusting. 🤮

I've tried it a few times. If on the weekend it seems they prepare all the fancy stuff in the bar, had a Ribeye and salad, was great. First time was great, second time was surf and turn deal night, I was disappointed.

I was interested in going there after seeing that the Howard regatta dinner was hosted at Iron Wolf. I just never think of it when we are thinking of dinner.

That does look good!
