We just got home from Vegas and decided to go down the 95 through Cali vs the 163 to Laughlin then home. The hail on the 163 (Laughlin turnoff from the 95) was so bad it had Metro there with multiple units letting everyone know they may close the road due to hail and storm danger, WOW is all I can say. Wife's Expedition was getting slammed with unbelievable hail, I thought it was going to be destroyed once we got home. We had to cross a few Rivers across the road vs parking and riding it out, sort of stupid knowing how deep and powerful they were but decided I rather do that than total her SUV. I have never seen it so bad. Hope anyone that had to go through it got through safely.

I'm in Topock, went right around us. My Mom in Ft. Mohave said it was absolutely crazy there. I'm seeing some pretty significant flooding on the FB pages.

Weather Apps are saying that us and Havasu are getting hit around 9-11 pm tonight. Radar shows an even larger storm following this one.

I just spoke with my GF who is staying at my vacation home in BH while she is working in Henderson. She said the 95 is closed where it meets the 163 just before the CA / NV stateline.

I left BH around 3:30 to pick my wife up in Vegas from a 5:30 flight. Going up out of Laughlin it started to get dark, and a few miles later the rain and hail was coming down so hard I couldn't see shit, but the fog line and the faint tail light from the camper van in front of me. 1-1 1\2" hail\slush covering the road. We caught a line of cars going slow with flashers on and kept moving. got to the bottom of the hill and was all clear. Heading back from Vegas we could see we heading right back into it, no hail just lots of rain and lightning. 95 was closed at the 163 cutoff. Got back to BH just before 8.

Just as a point of reference, we had hail on July 5th 2014 in Havasu. I literally hid under a towable with a random kid to protect him on the dock at the Landing waiting it out. It was brutal.

I love a fun monsoon, but that is a little crazy!

Coming across the desert one vacation in our pickup with a cabover camper we hit a hail storm. We had gone from San Diego all the up to Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Az, and the front of the rig was hammered with dead bugs. The hail was big and loud on the camper. My son was up on the overhead bunk and he said it was insanely loud. When we stopped at Baker I pulled into a parking lot to check things out. That damn hail beadblasted all the dead butterflies and other insects off the front camper. It was a nice little benefit. The temps dropped from 90* to 40* in a about half a mile.
