Need prayers for our new dog Charlie

She was bit on the face by a rattle snake. My wife got home and drove her to the vet and they sent her to emergency vet. She is getting treatment. It’s pretty bad but we are hopeful.

I searched our backyard cameras and she went outside and in the bushes and then I heard a big yelp. That was at 1:45 and she got to the vet at 2:50.

Now I gotta go home and kill a snake

I guess after being bit she will most likely avoid them in the future without training - depends on the dog.

We got to see her and they gave her the anti venom. She is doing much better and reacting positively to it. They will keep us updated throughout the night.

For what it's worth, dogs get bit by Rattlesnakes a lot, and I've yet to see one die from it....their faces get all swollen and fucked up for a few days, and then they're back to normal.

Keep your head up....you're dealing with an animal that eats it own shit for fun and doesn't flinch. A snake bite is just a bump in the road.

I think so.

We live by the hills and they cut down all the wildflowers the past couple of days on the lot across the street and the snakes are looking for hiding spots.

They normally cut everything down in June when it’s dry but there’s a new lady in charge and she did it too early this year. That’s why there’s snakes all over our neighborhood.

We live in the hills. I see rattlesnakes all the time. Had one in my garage a few weeks ago. I searched when I got home but did t find anything.

I heard her cry on our cameras when she got bit. Doctor said it’s rattlesnake from her experience.

30+ years ago My lab Buddy was bit by a sidewinder on the nose. Anti venom, a week of meds and he was out looking for that snake. Doc told me that they won't be affected near as much the next bite. Must be true because ol Buddy brought me that dead snake less than a week later.
