"more than 660 attacks linked to political violence recorded last year alone" yikes!!!

Just got back from a few weeks in PV, thank god the cartels spend money on keeping that place safe. Its because they own most of the hotels, lol

A friend of mine down in MX from LA has a cousin that was a key player in getting the current President elected. I informed her that her cousin has to be connected....no if, ands or buts about it.

She keeps telling me to come down for a visit and I will be safe while hanging out with her.....wonder why? lol

Naw.....I will pass :)

So my wife is from Mexico....with that said, she doesn't have any desire to go there ever. She would tell me stories from the news down there (totally different than ours as it literally shows dead bodies and all other kinds of stuff), her family has had issues, etc. However, about 12 years or more ago I became friends with a client whose family owns a lot of Ensenada. In fact, his brother was like the attorney general for Baja. His family has told me in an around about way, that I have nothing to worry about and that my family will be taken care of. His mother, before she had passed, literally grabbed my hand and said as long as I take care of her family, I will be taken care of while down there. Only with this friendship has my wife ventured back to Mexico for dentistry and to shop every once in a while.

When my wife gets her teeth cleaning or whatever, I cruise around Tijuana and love it. I have a couple taco shops and restaurants that I frequent and tip well because they take care of me well too. I will say, I was told never to drive a flashy car to Mexico ever and do not go to the clubs late at night and stay away from the areas where there is prostitution. There is a lot more to it, but just have common sense down there.

There’s violence and corruption in all these third world countries. If they didn’t have beaches and warm climates, they’d fucking starve. For the most part they don’t bite the hand the feeds then, which is tourism. If you’re not looking for drugs and hookers, and you stick to the resorts, your chances of being fucked with are pretty slim. Pretty much the same common sense for any city in America as far as drugs and hookers 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sort of a sidenote, we were in many countries first quarter of last year overseas and some Third World countries doing business for three weeks. We’re always driven around with a professional driver and sort of a different splash. We met other business leaders. One of the first things I did within five minutes of a conversation is apologized for President Biden, and they all smiled and shook their heads and agreed. I told him things will change..
Never thought I’d be embarrassed as an American traveling to foreign countries.

Shit look up the shooting that went down at Lake Perris.

Violence is everywhere
That’s true, but some places are worse than others and some places, like here in the US, I can carry my piece, at least in Arizona.

TJ, you have brass balls.

I haven't been in TJ since the mid-80's while serving in the Corp, even then we weren't allowed to go there. But SD girlies + 18 yr old drinking age = yes please

But seriously, worked LA for almost 30 years, and TJ is not a nice town. 6 people killed everyday, 150 per 100,000, it has won many years the most dangerous city in the world. That honor is not one to sell tacos.

Almost 10,000 murders between 2019-2023, wtf folks, that's a spicy burrito!

Did our OWN President of the USA not get capped last year? There are F'd people EVERYWHERE!
This is true...but last year, for some of the local elections, the poll workers arrived at their stations to find heads in foam coolers. I mean, I guess they were thoughtful enough to keep the mess contained? This was in the areas surrounding TJ...not out in the sticks.

Well, if it weren't for cartel videos, I'd have figured a chainsaw was good for dismembering a body. Turns out, a cheap machete is far superior to a Stihl.

Fantastic...I'm actually in Mexico City all week in business LOL
That place "seems" pretty safe. It's like the cartels have a rule about staying out of their capital. (Whereas here, the biggest crooks live in DC) I think I've only read one pretty nasty report of a shootout/hit last year. Some really nice mall in the high rise area. Not random by any means. Looked like the shootout from "Heat", nice area.

And here’s another reason not to go.
Why give them a dime?

Yeah I’m in Santa Fe, my Hilton hotel has a private entrance to a swanky mall.

Doing training at a private track just outside of town, owned by some billionaires. It’s massive, 2.5 miles with an Offroad track also.

I swear I would be such a great rich guy…
