I recommend you replace the accelerator pump diaphragms and run it. 👍🏼

I hear ya and will probably do the trick.
But
I make it to the River so few times now days.
I'd rather do the full-pull and not chance it shutting on my trip.

That is exactly what happened to my 1 trip last year.

The accel pump diaphragms turn to rocks in a few months with today's gas.

If it starts and runs good (just lags on tip-in), try and push the pump arm down with your finger. (Below the spring, not above it).

It should push down Easily and gas should come out of the squiters.

My guess is...

They won't push down easily, and no gas will come out!

If ALL the above are true, just replace the pump diaphragms. The way your carbs are mounted, you probably won't even have to pull the carbs to replace em.

Gimme a call if you need Any help. 👍🏼

I just had my Holley 750 done by Bruce at Carbs Unlimited in Peoria. Pricey, ($395) but he delivered and is a wealth of knowledge. I almost just bought a new carb, but he swore that the new Holleys are China junk and its worth to keep the one I had. I dunno? I needed in a rush also.

Holly bought em, but as far as I know, they didn't change anything.

Fantastic carbs right outa the box...

Thanks for posting this; unfortunately just talked with Bruce since we live in Peoria and he won't work on high performance carb(s). We have a Dominator 1050 on top of our 1997 Mercury 525SC engine.

Yep.

No clue how you tune a carb that's not attached to an engine. Pure luck I suppose? 🤷‍♂️
John will have you fill out a sheet with all the engine specs, drive or trans specs down to impeller size. All I’ve had to do with the carbs he’s done was adjust idle. Between him and Steve Brule they were the go to’s and would collaborate if you were dynoing a motor with a carb John did, not sure now with Steve being retired. But I trust John with every carb I’ve had done and hasn’t disappointed so far

I built a 950 QFT for my 555” 4 years ago. Haven’t touched it since. Been excellent so far.

Try Dan at Jett Performance Marine in North Phoenix. He did quite a bit of work on my friends blown Daytona jet and was excellent. It was actually the boat JBB (rest his soul) bought and trailered home during a hurricane. Crazy story.

I used Bruce for years. He does excellent work. I didn’t know he wouldn’t do high performance stuff.

Maybe it was the way I described the engine with the Weiand supercharger 🤷‍♂️
