Lower River Outboards is again organizing the Lower river Run. Saturday June 7 from Mcintyre Park down river to 4 S beach about 90 miles round trip.
Great event and well organized. I've run it twice and will be there this year, hopefully running my STV.

Is it not going all the way to Martinez this year?

I like the idea of 90 miles, at 160 round trip to Martinez I had to carry 20 gallons in jugs to make it.

I did this run about 4 or 5 years ago down to the dam below Martinez and back. Fun times even in 120*.

I would be stoked to do this run in 100* or less to enjoy the fresh air a bit more!

Peeps from Martinez come up and meet at 4 S beach and most people who start at McIntyre stop and return from 4 S beach.
I never been on the water below 4 S, I may make the run to Martinez, I believe they have fuel

Martinez and fishers both have fuel

Such a fun run. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times now all the way down to Martinez. It’s a loooong but awesome day. Not going to make it this year with the newborn.

My 24yr old son and I will be attending this year with his 1983 Baker RST that he recently finished restoring. Could not be more proud of him as he did the majority of the work himself and this thing was pretty rough after sitting for about 20 years after picking it up from a friend in Oklahoma a couple of years ago. Anyways sorry proud dad moments I guess, looking forward to meeting up with everyone and we will be camping at Mcyntire the night before and night

Sure wish the event organizers would have a way to purchase event shirts online for those of us who can't make it, but still want to support the event!

Bitchin' Baker!! And very cool father and son story! My dad's best buddy had an '82 Baker tunnel that they set up with a custom barefoot boom. They used it quite a bit in the warm water channel in Long Beach, as well as Blythe. It would be hard to count the number of people who barefooted from that boat! His son now owns it, and I've been trying to motivate him for years to get it back on the water, but I believe it needs new floors. I guess all those years of us climbing into the boat and draining our barefoot suits, did that floor no favors?! And please don't hesitate to post some photos here from the event!

Are there any fuel on the water, I want to tag along on the jet ski but full tank won't make it 90 miles.

I’ll make this run someday, the goal is by the 10 year anniversary.

I was able to stop by McIntyre on my way to AZ during the 2023 run and watch some of the guys launch. Man I miss the lower river.

I saw someone with a brand new F250 and a LROB sticker on my way to work the other day.

We want to go in our vintage Baker. It’s an 80’s tunnel, open bow, 18ft, 150 Yamaha Vpro.

We used to keep a trailer at Hidden Shores many decades ago and would run our old Schiada OB up to Walter’s and back often. But never been on the water between Walter’s and Blythe. Love the lower river but living in Havasu now with a lake toon. But we occasionally take the Baker down to the Parker strip for a nostalgia run,

I’m trying to sort my schedule to make this run this year. Where is the spot to stay the night the night before and night after?

Can I bring the Nordic? Jk even if someone says yes my balls aren’t big enough to run it down there.

Sounds like an awesome day on the river for sure. I've been on that stretch of river many times but not for decades. I learned to ski south of Blythe about 50 years ago behind my bosses jet, and my buddy had a jet boat and trailer in a park on the CA side (can't remember the name) in the 80's and 90's. Back then, most of it was pretty desolate but serene. Jets are king there, I would love to do it but wouldn't take an I/O on that long stretch unless it's changed dramatically.

I really want to make it to one of these runs some time. I am closer though. For the first time in almost 7 years I took the boat out yesterday. She ran well, but I forgot how thirsty she is.... Need to figure out my mileage before i can commit to this. I only have 2 10 gallon tanks.

My old motor was really thirsty also. I would top off both tanks and bring and extra 10 gallons with me. My new motor will make it without extra no problem.
