Been looking around for a beater for my youngest. Used to be cheap and everywhere in SoCal. No so much anymore, and not many around hereHey Bones, any leads on a 78-87 El Camino that you know of?

Oh it would.505 and M-22...we don't have highways around here, so perfect for scaring the bejeezus out of the locals![]()
Holley makes that. A nice piece that lookās factory instead of bling blingBig block 505 + M22 = Barely Controlled Mayhem
Hell yeah.
Nice work concealing the heater and A/C lines. The accessory drive casting is a cool piece.
We did a frame off on a one owner Elcamimo. erod ls3, 4l60e, new 12 bolt Wilwoods. Came out super nice. And then he moved to Oregon so the erod was a waste.FYI::: Really like to get one with a modern day LS drive train in it (at least an LS2) and has to have a/c and mated to a modern tranny also. Jsut missed one in Phoenix this week end, owner say it went for $30K at Mecum Auction but I couldnt make it down there![]()
I like it. I'm not a fan of a half dozen polished billet pulleys and idlers along with polished brackets on an engine, so this minimization by Holley is a well thought out alternative.Holley makes that. A nice piece that lookās factory instead of bling bling
Thats what the guy with blue chevelle plan was. He had the billet front drive on it, and didn't like it.I like it. I'm not a fan of a half dozen polished billet pulleys and idlers along with polished brackets on an engine, so this minimization by Holley is a well thought out alternative.
That piece, along with black braided coolant, accessory hoses, and fittings, can produce a measured look of power and competent design without the distraction of shiny bits everywhere that need constant attention to look decent.
It's a good look.Thats what the guy with blue chevelle plan was. He had the billet front drive on it, and didn't like it.
If by chance you get one done or know of any candidates please let me know, Im carless now since I sold my 90 SS454 so Im looking OK, something in the $30K neighborhoodWe did a frame off on a one owner Elcamimo. erod ls3, 4l60e, new 12 bolt Wilwoods. Looks like there is quite a bit of room in that engine bay. A Coyote would probably fit nicely and look a little more exotic that a SBC.Hereās one you wonāt see every day. So this is one of my first customers when I started out. Yes it is a real Ferrari 330gt 2+2 coupe. He bought in the 70ās when it wasnāt worth shit with a blown up v12. Sold the v12 for more than he paid for the car. Put a big block in it and blew up the trans and rear diff. Sold those for more than he paid for it. So really a free Ferrari in car guy math. Sometime he took it to a body shop and told the guy he wanted to cut the roof off. The guy said are you nuts itās a Ferrari. He said he didnāt care and wanted a roadster. Guy said nope. Well after my customer took a hammer to the roof the guy got the point and off came the roof. This thing has been a race car for some of its life. It went PSCa racing and went as fast as 8.60@175 mph with a 14/71 blown alcohol bbc in it. He has since mellowed it out and gave it to his son who is trying to make it back to Ferrari status as best he can. Pretty much his thoughts on it. Then he tells me he was offered 110k for the vin and title. Damn.Ummm, I may have a problem...14/71 blown alky bbc Ferrari sounds sexy as hell.
I always figured if the restoration train has already left the station, F' it, have fun with it!
110k I'm registering the thing as a Chevette, buying an injector hat and Lenco....Jegs would be getting some orders as would StrangePretty much his thoughts on it. Then he tells me he was offered 110k for the vin and title. Damn.
Was thinking the same thing. That is a lot of room for a car that does not look that large. But then again you did say that it had a V-12 at one point.Looks like there is quite a bit of room in that engine bay. A Coyote would probably fit nicely and look a little more exotic that a SBC.

As far as I know it was never 100% finished. Another old guy that passed away and never finished his dream. The odometer shows 38 miles on it. I am going to have some fun with it and if it stays around long enough, I will blow it apart and powder coat and finish it nicer.Nice. Did they intentionally let everything underneath it rust over, or was it more like a build, then never blown apart for paint again?
"Finished" enough...put it on a trailer behind Chester, and go to a track day! Heads will explodeAs far as I know it was never 100% finished. Itās is street legal. But yes an open track day would be a blast pissing off some Porsche and BMW owners. I was thinking of āM Huntrā for a plate."Finished" enough...put it on a trailer behind Chester, and go to a track day! Heads will explode![]()
That's badass, it would definitely hurt some feelings. So after a little horse trading this came into my life today. 1937 Chevy pickup. But wait thereās more. The thing is on a Roadster shop chassis with their irs set up. Brembo brakes. Penske Double adjustable coilovers. The part that really sold me on it was the Albins sequential 6-speed. 420ci old school small block that made 630 hp on the dyno. Holley efi on it. 285ās on the front and 325ās on the rear. As someone who grew up in a family supported by Flying A gasoline and Getty Oil, love the logo on the door. Never get to see that anymore.
