So there’s more to the story, but we ended with plenty of toys for my brothers 40th birthday trip to Powell. Dude put his wave runner on a trailer in the truck bed with boat in tow. 5 adults and 7 kids. 3 boats, 3 PWC’s 3 paddle boards, a kayak and a plethora of inflatables. Lots of fun is being had.

Looks awesome.

What was the process of getting the Waverunner/trailer combo in and out of the truck bed?
It went a lot smoother than I thought it would. We simply launched the boat first, unhooked the trailer, used 2 dirtbike ramps near a berm to unload the wave runner. Launched it and 3 of us put the PWC trailer on the boat trailer.

Awesome! We reserved a houseboat out of Wahweap in July. It will be our first time to Powell. Where are you planning on beaching the houseboat? Any info and pics are appreciated!

Yeah we dragged a few boats behind the houseboat, its definitely a gas saver on Powell especially when your not near any marina for a good while. Just don't try it with jet skis they seem to turn turtle and sink easy, then you gotta recover them which sucks. We'd just man handle them up onto the back of the house boat instead and only tow the boats.

This is my second time and I’ve ended up in Padre Bay both times. It’s 25 miles or so from Wahweap (they don’t advise you go much farther in your houseboat with the cut not being open. With another boat, rainbow bridge is another 20-25 miles from here.

This is our beach this week. Gunsight Bay was really crowded.

Did you see the dcb m31 white green and black? That boat was getting it up and down the main channel!

We’ll be there at our HB out of Wahweap July 10-17. Let me know if you need any help or have any issues.

Nice, we will be there July 10-15. I am taking our starlink for GPS or in case we need to make a phone call. It will just be my wife and I and our two kids. We reserved the 50 nomad and we’re taking our 27’ Cobra to cruise around and check out the lake. We got over the Havasu madness and this will be the second time we’ve used our boat in the last two years. We’re really looking forward to it! I will DM you my number. Feel free to call if you run into any trouble as well.

How long in advance does planning something like this start? Too late for this season? I want to do this

We left after I got off work on Wednesday. That morning (≈0430) I saw on the forums that starlink mini was half off. We were on the list years ago but chickened out due to no price lock on the service fee. Hadn’t given it much thought since, but that morning, knowing we were going to be remote with 7 kids for 5 days, I decided it was a good time to get one. If you have it, you won’t need it kind of thing. Nobody got injured so we didn’t end up needing it, but it did allow for endless supply of music and some RDP.

More to the story, why 3 boats and 3 waverunners? We boat pretty regularly, just about once a week. Had been boating the Friday before, changed the oil that Saturday, and realized my screen in the boat was not working. I had completely depleted the battery a few moths ago and figured it was just low on voltage, took the boat to the lake Monday after work and ran the boat, still no screen. Without a screen I had nothing. No gauges, trim tabs, ballast, radio etc… called my brother who was not planning on bringing his boat and told him mine wasn’t going to make it. It was then that he decided he’d bring both his waverunner and boat. I was making calls and last minute the day we left, the Mastercraft dealer in Page AZ said they could look at it first thing in the morning. Took them about an hour, and they had me running, so then we had 3 boats. Which really wasn’t necessary, we didn’t boat nearly as much as I had expected. Kids had too much fun on the houseboat.

I want to do a houseboat on Powell SOOOOO bad! We did a week when I was about 12. We had 3 families plus a pair of grandparents on 1 boat. It was AWESOME! We had 2 ski boats with us and had a blast.

With so may partnership type boats you can sometimes find people who want to sell their week. You just have to check different sites almost daily. They do come up.
