Hi everyone I'm new to this forum I have been on the bayliner owners club forum for about a year now while i restored my Bayliner Capri but i am looking for a group that is more local to me since most of those guys are in Europe and the east coast.

I know my boat isnt exactly what most of you seem to have from what i see but i think we have the same interests.

thanks for reading.

Welcome aboard.

No one really cares what kind of boat you have. Sure you'll get some ribbing from time to time, but even the DCB guys take a beating. It's all in good fun.

It's not a Jet Boat so I'm good with it.

He really needs to be ready for Brown though.

Welcome to the board. I looked at some of your pictures and you did a very nice job on your boat. You should be proud.

Don't worry, your boat is far from the crappiest on this forum.
(It'll be a while before I give up the that title :champagne:)

Welcome, Bill.

As I understand, the Bayliner Capri was the best selling boat for at least 15 years consecutive and a far nicer design than the entry level Bayliner, IMO. I've always liked them. Nice boat. Nice job. Impressive work.

How about this for a name: JBB SUX

Who is Tom Brown?

Tom Brown is a guy who, like anyone, is doing his best to get through life. He enjoys people, the spectacular beauty of nature, and occasional stimulation of his more sensitive left nipple. He enjoys a recurring dream of being cocooned in a frog's intestine, all warm, cozy, and moist. He lives with the reality of occasionally waking up to urine soaked bed clothes, long since cooled, and more than a little uncomfortable. He's a man of vision, insecurity, noble thoughts, and a predisposition to a sharp burning sensation when he pees.

Loved by many, hated by more, and confused by all. He's a man of the people. He's a man of the times. He's every man's son.

He's that nagging thought you left your car unlocked while shopping downtown. He's the inappropriate comment at a funeral. He's the overly friendly guy wearing speedos squeezing his lumpy package. He's the awkward pause when you meet someone new who's too busy for a proper introduction but doesn't wish to be rude.

In contemporary terms, he's the man who will soon be finished paying his debt to society. He's the man who will be free of ankle bracelets, interviews, and "interrogations" by prison system officers who's wifes never understood their dreams and desires.

More than anything, he's a man warmly welcoming you to RiverDave's Place. Let's be friends, billstoudt. It's clear we have a lot in common.

Bill I just read 31 of the 35 pages of your restoration.. HOLY SHIT!!

Don't let anyone give you shit on here about your bayliner, it's more custom then 1/2 the custom boats on here.. :D

I will say I would've re-wired it though completely from top to bottom when you had it all a part.. It's about the only thing left on the boat that you could change.

Do you have some finished overall pics I could see? I'd like to see that tower as well. While I was skimming the thread, I missed if you made that or bought it.

By the way new guy, RiverDave hates when I do that. I mean, he gets a kick out of it but it also upsets him: "Jesus Christ, Brown! I wish you wouldn't freak the new guys out like that. I'm trying to build a site here."

... and that, billstoudt, is why I'm here.

Nice resto. I went through the enitre thread as I would last months issue of Playboy, looking at the pictures only. Only one thing kept popping into my mind "Why??" looking at the last set of pics you did a great job and as RD said. Its more custom than most of the "custom" boats on here.

Welcome to the site and I dont think anyone has warned you yet. but make sure to NEVER Quote Tom Brown and also make sure to Never call JBB Brian...the correct name is Bryon.:thumbsup

Wow, just read through your resto thread and I'm very impressed. I've got an old Tahiti sitting in my basement that I would love to give a similar treatment to but have neither the talent or the patience.

One thing I did notice when looking through the pictures is that it looked like you sealed over the drain tubes in the storage lockers. Make sure you have some way for the water to drain from those lockers back to the bilge or you are going to end up with rotted carpet/wood again. I suspect you already planned for this but I couldn't tell from the pictures.

Welcome.

"My" (really my dad and grandparent's) first boat was a 91 or so Bayliner 18 Capri w/ a single Force 90 outboard they bought new. A lovely teal/pink.:D

Still need to post those pics of wife/boat.:thumbsup
