I have a buyer for my Blazer.
He wants to put the money in an escrow account, until he receives the Blazer in Texas.
My only concern is going through with sale, taking the time to get it shipped, and then him having buyers remorse when it get's there.

How do car escrow accounts work?
Or, do they work?

Last time I shipped a car to Florida, I had the buyer wire me a 10% non-refundable deposit. That way if he refused the car I had both way shipping already paid for.

Are you talking about that '71 Blazer? WTF is he worried about? Didn't he see the pics? You can tell that thing is tight.

He loves the Blazer, but has never done a long distance transaction.

I have bought and sold many large ticket items over the internet.
Luckily for me it has always one well.
But in todays climate, I am really wary.
I am concerned that if I go through all the headaches, that he pulls out of the deal due to a zit on his ass.:D

Do a Google search for "escrow account car sales", read a few of the stories, and tell the guy to pound sand.

I would tell him that he is free to send anyone over to inspect the vehicle before he sends the full amount and give him five days to do it.

Thanks for the responses.
I told him that I was not comfortable with using an escrow service.
He is going to fly out next week and go to the bank with me.
Once he has seen the truck and the funds clear, he can arrange his own shipping.
He wants the deal done, and is not a dreamer.
Merry Christmas to me......... maybe.
