A standing army is unconstational to begin with but lets now build it with all the law breakers we have been escorting accross the boarder.

It’s wild after seeing the movie “American Made” where the CIA flew people from South America to the US to militarily train them.

Training people who are already here would be a walk in the park sadly.

Prisoners, yes. Soldiers?mercs from other countries under the banner of Wagner, yes.
They fought instead of prison sentences they were already serving, and foreigners were given citizenship after their tour of duty...not during training.

Dirty Dick wants to give these lawbreakers money, guns and training...and we still don't know who they are.
An army of foreigners on US soil is an invasion, nothing more.

Undocumented immigrants (illegal aliens) can not currently join the US military. It is banned by law.

Undocumented immigrants that were DACA recipients used to be able to join if they had special skills under the MAVNI program which was capped at 1,500 per year, but that has been cancelled.

Non-Citizens with legal immigration status are eligible to join the US military and will be afforded expedited pathways to citizenship if their service commitment is successfully concluded. That number is about 5,000 enlistees per year.

Ironically, undocumented immigrants must register under selective service within 30 days of their 18th birthday.

When I was at Ft. Rucker there were people going through flight training from many countries. It made me wonder if we would be fighting against these same people at some point in the future.

While there’s a war going on, they get citizen ship even faster I believe, in boot camp or AIT, all the people getting citizenship came back with small flags one day, I think they were granted citizenship that day. It was mostly Africans.

It surprised me to see fighters at Luke with other countries' flags. I guess it's a training facility.

The fact that this was even floated and given the time of day is cause enough for concern. Let's hope we never hear of it again... :(

And the law doesn't mean anything for the top brass (democrat or republican). It'd be very easy to hire them as contractors or to find some state department loophole where they get visas of some sort.

But it's such a bad idea, everyone can see that. I think we're safe for now.

During WW2 over 300,000 foreign born individuals served with over 109,000 becoming citizens. The second war powers act in 42 even lifted the proof of lawful entry requirement in order to enlist.

All Males in the US, whether a citizen or not and even if the entry was unlawful had to register for the draft.

All that was required to become a citizen after enlistment or being drafted then was to file a petition for naturalization and swear allegiance.

The whole point of the thread is that Dick Durban wants to change the requirements for joining the military and getting citizenship.
Arguing that the current law doesn’t allow it is exactly Dicks point.

I'm on the same thought process as the guys that think this is a really bad idea. I hope I am wrong with every fiber of my body but I believe that cells are being placed on US Soil since numbnuts took office. They are strategically being placed in areas where the powers that be feel there is going to be the most resistance. How are they determining those areas you ask? Easy they are using tik tok and other data mining apps such as the purchasing app Temu. They are watching what is said and being purchased.
For instance, Debbie from Ohio posting cat videos in Ohio is no threat. However Grant from Texas purchasing ammo, body armor, and posting videos on how to survive is a threat.
I think they are building heat maps to know where to send "their" army and will train them accordingly. The las thing we need is to help them.

It's wild to me that our own government is flooding our streets with drugs (and still does), our government actively works with drug cartels etc.. and our citizens don't seem to have a problem with it, or even question why we'd need such branches of the government that do these kinds of things. Instead they walk out of the movie theatre and say "Tom Cruise was really good in that role".
